Edited to note I was looking at the schedule wrong. If CJF is healthy, I do believe we go 5-0. If he doesn't play or is limited, 3-2.

No way a Fran-coached team goes 5-0 to start February.
Based on those schools' history of COVID protocol management, it's more likely that Iowa goes 1-1 in their next five games.
Drake has no counter to #55 and Iowa’s depth is vastly superior...but the game should be played annually.....home and home. Cancel the Western Illinois game..or the NE Tennessee St. Teacher’s College game and play the ‘dogs.....And maybe even UNI.
They won't because Fran was soured by the rinky dink refs at UNI back in 2012 or whenever it was.
The best is to hope UNI and Drake cave in and accept having to go to Iowa and ISU every year.
I would prefer it the old way, but oh well......

You guys taking Drake are nuts. Iowa has rolled some really good teams and have lost some tough close games against top 25 teams, while playing pretty horribly against them. Without CJF, they would beat drake by 15-20. With CJF they would beat drake by 30. Drake hasn't beat anyone with a pulse. Drake's strength of schedule is 142, and Iowa's is 4th.
I'm a fan of both teams. Iowa would win 8 or 9 out of 10. Drake is very good and very athletic. Their problem is Brodie would get eaten alive by Garza. Drake doesn't have the necessary depth or size. Although Penn vs. JBo and Weiskamp vs. Hemphill would be interesting matchups.
Iowa and ISU should never play at UNI nor Drake. Home and neutral court, maybe.

at least. Look what has happened since he’s been hurt, and then before. We miss his scoring obviously, but he is a force multiplier stretching the defense and getting others open looks/pathways to the basket

Outside of Garza, I don't see anyone punching anyone in the mouth. Murray might be number two. Weezy is great, but shows no emotion. I love JBO but he doesn't have it right now.

As noted in this thread and others, for me, it all hinges on CJF’s health. We have seen this team’s limitations or lack thereof depending on if he’s playing healthy.
I don't disagree. He is a game changer. Not only b/c he can shoot the three, but more importantly, he is one of few players that can create his own shot. That is a necessity for teams to go far. That is why I like J.T. on the floor as well.
Put me down for that bet as well. Either torbee will being buying a lot of steak dinner or he will need to visit DSM on the reg to cash in from various people.
I only like JT on the floor if it is with CJF and JW. He needs a shooter to throw it to after he goes down the middle of the lane with his hair on fire.
