Looks like Thomsen gets another crack at Kemerer.. Stroker has had enough of Joseph

Below are the weight class matchups for the event, with rankings from the most recent update posted to InterMat on Wednesday, March 25.

113: Brennen Doebel (Clear Lake) vs. No. 4 Devin Brown (Franklin Regional, Pa.)
120: No. 20 Jacob Schwarm (Bettendorf) vs. No. 20 (at 126) Doyle Trout (Centennial, Neb.)
126: No. 17 Nolan Hellickson (Southeast Polk) vs. No. 14 Eli Seipel (St. Paris Graham, Ohio)
132: Paul Glynn (Bettendorf) vs. No. 1 Kaid Brock (Stillwater, Okla.)
138: Josh Wenger (Cedar Rapids Prairie) vs. No. 2 Sam Krivus (Hempfield Area, Pa.)
145: No. 2 Max Thomsen (Union) vs. No. 1 Michael Kemerer (Franklin Regional, Pa.)
145: No. 3 Fredy Stroker (Bettendorf) vs. Tristan Moran (Stillwater, Okla.)
152: Chase Straw (Independence) vs. No. 1 Vincenzo Joseph (Pittsburgh Central Catholic, Pa.)
160: No. 4 Bryce Steiert (Waverly-Shell Rock) vs. No. 2 Josh Shields (Franklin Regional, Pa.)
170: No. 11 Jacob Holschlag (Union) vs. Luke Entzel (Missoula Big Sky, Mont.)
182: No. 18 Evan Hansen (Exira) vs. No. 6 Kollin Moore (Norwayne, Ohio)
195: No. 9 Cash Wilcke (OA-BCIG) vs. No. 2 Bobby Steveson (Apple Valley, Minn.)
195: No. 10 Steven Holloway (Mediapolis) vs. Tyler Johnson (Lockport, Ill.)
220: No. 5 Ryan Parmely (Maquoketa Valley) vs. Jay Nino (Genoa, Ohio)
285: No. 3 Jacob Marnin (Southeast Polk) vs. No. 6 Tate Orndorff (University, Wash.)

There's always a couple upsets in these, so I'll predict that team Iowa manages 7-8 wins.

I think Iowa wins 145(Stroker), 170, and the 3 bigs. Maybe Schwarm and/or Hellickson can pull and upset. Steiert-Sheilds is going to be a good one.

Too bad Racer or Patton couldn't get a match

bolded my Iowa picks, maybe Schwarm, Hellickson or Parmely. Suprised that Nino isnt ranked?

170 is such a beast. IMO when I was at the state tourney, Holschlag impressed me more than anyone. Really like that kid.

I heard Holloway was considering Mizzou? Not sure how true but man he is cut. Definatly looks like a 197 greek god. Wouldnt mind seeing him sign with us. I am not that sold on Wilcke but would like to be wrong on that.

At Independence, to close not to attend. I feel sorry for Chase as this is his backyard. Looking forwarding to seeing Brown finally, also watching Parmely one last time. I too think it will be closer dual then most think. Going w 36-24, all stars with 3 pins

If Holloway is looking to go wrestling vs football and his grades are ok then IMO we should be beating his door down. Wilke seems like more of a 184 and if you are going to bring in non blue chip Iowa kid Holloway looks to bring a lot more to the table than some of the others we signed already this class. He is strong as heck and very athletic to boot. Lots to work with.
