Ok great. Whta does 'comprehensive immigration reform" mean. Like exactly. Because it sounds a lot like all the other emocrat slogans like 'common sense gun control'
My recommendation:
1. Close the border. Period.
2. No one comes in without a full background screening no matter how many women and children you've drug along. They can apply for entry or asylum online or in person and the embassy in the country of origin. Yes thjis will mean a delay.
3. Bring in the national guard. Erect a wall or barrier where appropriate. IN places this isnt, use drones, motion sensor and any other technology we might have.
4. Establish aggressive quotas for work visas. Consider some sort of technological monitoring so as to keep track of individuals. Maybe create some sort of monthly check ins or something to be sure they don't get in and disappear. Failure to check in or disabling of any monitoring system results in immediate deportation once found.
Thats a start.
This might be the most anti-American thing I’ve ever seen. You’re literally calling for upending our entire immigration/border patrol system.
1) we need a stricter asylum policy - idk how far back but my understanding is that at some point in the past they expanded the definition of what qualified someone for asylum. This led to more people claiming asylum, but at the same time no additional resources were plugged into the asylum process, creating the massive backlog that we have today where it takes years to complete.
2) at the southern border, make greater use of drones/surveillance equipment/ walls at strategic points to direct migrant traffic to where they can be met easily.
3) immigration quotas and such haven’t been touched in 40+ years; those need to be updated.
4) I’d expand use of work visas.
