It happens all the time. Then compromises are made because the two-party system demands it. But that's not my point. You can't just give a POTUS King-like powers because Congress is dysfunctional. It's too slippery of a slope to Fascism, and you voted in a cult leader who is happy to push the country down the slide. There are decisions being made that cannot be undone, and the consequences may be dire. You want to fix Congress? Vote for better representatives instead of the ones who spend the most on commercials. What you don't do is just give billionaire white supremacist narcissists skeleton keys to every government agency.
