If they were not serious audits, I sincerely doubt the DOD would have failed them several years in a row.
You certainly need somebody who knows how to read research. So many of their cuts are from research studies that they don’t understand the applications for.
If it was funded government research involving hamsters, I will guarantee there was a quite important human implication from the study. But that’s not a catchy headline.

Realistically, yes. It takes a trained accountant or auditor to see more than just a number and interpret it for what it is, rather than just a line item that you can make into whatever you want for political means. But people like you don't really care about digging out fraud, or you never would have voted for the biggest grifter to ever run for office. This is all a political stunt for useful idiots like you.

Well… it would certainly take somebody capable of reading the congressional budget to know that this money is being spent exactly as Congress allocated it.
