The things i seen on twitter looks like eno is looking to make a decision in may iowa is still the favorite he said. This would be a HUGE pick up to have cornerstones on both offense and defense to build around with aj epenesa. Thoughts?

It would be awesome without question. I generally don't get upset when we miss supposed big time recruits or get 2 star recruits. I let the experts on this board handle that aspect.

I would expect a lot of positivity if he commits to Iowa in may but I also suspect a lot on here to not be too supportive with this until he signs in February. 4 reasons for that.

1. May is a long way from February.
2. Many Iowa fans have been burned many times before on big time recruits that commit only to go elsewhere when the pay day comes in from big time colleges.
3. Many on here like to bitch about anything they can and I can't see this being any different.
4. A lot of trolls on this site pretending to be Iowa fans.

Can't wait for the first Nebraska douche to come rolling over here to give us his input. It's only a matter of time.

with Michigan supposedly 2nd to IA, I think IA's just their chances just improved as AJ Dillon just committed to Michigan and a lot of people in South Bend thought he would go to ND, and Harblow is trying to get Illinois's RB to flip.

Eno would also help in recruiting in TX, WR Shavers would be a good get, with ILB Hines being good friends with Eno this might be enough otherwise getting a LB in this class is not that big a deal as they won't lose a LB to graduation till 2017.

Eno fits Iowa big time.
Iowa's system fits Eno big time.

Eno seems to be a very well grounded young man. For this reason I think he's attracted to Kirk and our staff. I'm very excited about him. I hope he becomes a Hawkeye.

Why would you decide to commit in May....when you have a whole season of football to watch and then decide. Only reason to commit that early is because you know you can back out of it if you choose to. "committing" is one of the most pointless things ever.

I don't watch high school film, but if he is that great I'm sure texas schools will be offering at some point. That said, the possibility of a b12 implosion would have to be on his mind.

Yep. That's the game. Colleges only have so many spots. You wait too long and that spot could be gone. The college has the risk the kid will bolt in the 11th hour.

I realize it's OT, but I was surprised to learn that the iowa state board is closed to visitors. I wanted to post a congratulatory note there once, but wasn't allowed to. I guess the administrator of each board can set their own rules. If so, Tom must just be a friendly sort, since anyone is welcome on this board. We do get a fair number of seasonal trolls, it seems. PerhapsTom K can comment on that.

every texas school has offered and its not all about watching and deciding hes the kind of kid who doesnt care about care about that type of stuff he cares about where he best fits in the program and right now thats iowa..... not every kids the same but that being said with aj dillon going to michigan that helps iowa's chances alot

I don't see offers from tcu tx or a&m....where did you see these offers? All I see is TT and the rapists.

I assume you are good friends with him?

Just a quick comment on AJ Dillon. I'm the first to say I have no ability to evaluate talent. That said, I took a good look at his video the other night. He reminded me of Coker and did not to appear to have a lot of speed. Eno looked way WAY WAY better. Just curious how those with trained eyes evaluate them.

some times power is better than speed for a team that likes to pound the ball, IA is a pound the ball type team like Michigan is,

IA was/is recruiting AJ Dillon along with Eno and would have taken both.

don't judge a player on a couple highlight videos.

I've said it several times. I think EB's highlight video is one of the best I have ever seen. I'm old and have seen quite a few. What a huge get that would be.

Also, in regards the question of "why commit so early"?

I'd say one great reason is that if you are a big time recruit, like he and AJ Epenesa are, it can go a long ways in convincing other big time recruits to come to Iowa. I'm thinking that is one big reason.

I know one Texas school that hasn't offered TEXAS ! If they do offer it could be a game changer.

getting Eno could have a big impact on other TX recruits. WR Shavers comes to mind. even ILB Hines is a close friend of Eno and Hines is one of the top ILB in the country, if Lombardi goes elsewhere there is DT/QB Fields out of TX, that GD and Kennedy are both recruiting.

Michigan just signed their 3rd RB of this class and another 4 star in O'Maury Sanders.

So I would think Michigan is probably out for Eno Benjamin at this time. Never know I guess.

I saw on Twitter from Morehouse and others Benjamin is announcing on April 18th.
I know in this day and age early verbals don't always hold up. But, a May pledge from Eno just might bring some other guys into the Hawkeye fold over the summer. I still believe good players want to play together on the same team.

2 weeks to wait and find out. Michigan got two 4* Rbs recently so I wonder if that pushed him even closer to committing with the hawks

If the kid knows where he wants to go. Why wait? If the kid was holding out for a Texas offer, he wouldn't commit early and wait for an offer. I'm sure he's already considered the possibility of a Texas/A&M offer. So the idea of Texas making an offer and it changing things for him is bunk. Eno also knows Iowa would hold a scholarship for him, so there's no need to lock down a scholarship.

If Eno commits, then I'm fairly confident he's solid with Iowa or anyone else. The kid seems very grounded and knows what he wants.

I don't think so. The kid was pretty firm on Iowa being his top school even after his Michigan visit. That leads me to believe that RB's committing to Michigan has no affect on his decision to commit this early.

I thought he was coming back to Iowa for the Spring game so I think he is committing to Iowa. This would be huge! They haven't signed a top RB recruit for awhile. Also, with him and Epenesa on board it would help recruiting other higher ranked recruits.

What site are you guys using that lists these Michigan rb's as 4 star recruits...? Rivals had AJ Dillon as a 4 star, a fullback as a 3 star, another rb as a 3 star, and the kid that verballed yesterday, is currently unrated...

Jealousy is a bad trait.
jim harblow yanked the scholarship from instate 4* Falcon because jimmy boy was trying to get 5* Walker. so the post was valid and relevant to this point about pulling a kids offer.

this is not a habit to get into, getting a commit from 1 kid if there is a possibility of getting someone higher rated. pretty soon nobody will commit because of the possibility of their offer being pulled.

as soon as Michigan follows the path under Jim like it did under Hoke he will be gone, remember Hoke won the Sugar Bowl in his 1st season and they were glad he was hired because he was a MICHIGAN MAN,

Yeah and Rodney Coe (I think he was 4 star)? Let's hope this one goes better.

Our Chief of Police checked his criminal record. Not bad. 2 Sexual assaults, 1 battery assault, 4 grand theft auto, 11 shoplifting, and one littering. He's ready for the SEC but he's coming to Iowa!!

(For real, I love this kid. He's so going to fit our system.)

Okay:

1. Iowa has landed 5 four star commits in the last 5 years...that's absolutely terrible & embarrassing. Not sure why any Iowa fan would be bitching about Eno committing to the Hawks right now.
2. Who cares about NSD in February being a long ways away... Don't be dumb.
3. Iowa has a very real chance of landing their second 4* commit to start the class. Very important to get the momentum moving at the beginning of the class. It's a good start.
4. The reason why you're good with missing big time recruits and landing 2 stars is because you have adjusted to very low standards. Pretty pathetic.
5. Only fans of little brother schools blame the "pay day" as the reason (excuse) that recruits choose to go elsewhere.

Cliffs: Your inferiority complex is strong and makes you say really pathetic things.

Yeah and Rodney Coe (I think he was 4 star)? Let's hope this one goes better.
these were the 4* RB's since Greene had his 1800 yard season.
4* Wegher he and Robinson led IA to the OB win
4* Coker was run off and in 18 games ran for a little over 2000 yards
4* Garmon left after 1 semester went to a JUCO and to jail.

KF has not really had a miss on 4* RB's. KF has not been able to keep them here.
Wadley was just a 2*, Canzeri was just a 2* that couldn't stay healthy. if he had stayed healthy in my opinion him and Weisman would have been a very potent combination, JC has the speed back and MW as the power FB who could run and catch out of the back field.

If Wadley stays healthy and Iowa gives him the ball, he'll be one of the top 5 backs in the country. Five stars or no stars.

KF's staff has done a very good job at identifying talent, its just been difficult to keep them healthy and on the team, Hill who transferred to UNI was a Parade AA,

Daniels in his 1st start ran for 150 yards and he added a game of 194 yards on 25 carries, not bad 344 yards in 2 games when he was healthy. if he stays healthy he coukd just as easily be 1 of the top 5 RB's stat wise at the end of the year. not even Greene did that as for having that many yards in 2 games, the trick will be staying healthy the entire season.

Actually, here is what happened..Falcon had suffered serious knee injuries, multiple times..The medical staff had concerns if he would be cleared to play. Harbaugh offered him a free ride at Michigan..Same thing KF and Iowa did for Kahari Stewart..when it was determined he would not be medically cleared as a incoming freshman...Falcon still wanted the opportunity to play college football..He turned down the offer of a free education at Michigan and chose to attempt to play at Western Michigan..
