I am coming out from Maryland for the game (Iowa '86) with 2 buddies who are MD season ticket holders. They will be the 2 guys at the game wearing red shirts and paper bags over their heads. They mentioned last summer that they really wanted to go to a Big Ten road game and see what it was all about, so I offered to bring them with me. I think they are disappointed their team isn't better, but are pretty psyched about seeing a very hot Hawk team. They met some Hawkeyes at the Maryland game last year and were very impressed by how nice they were, etc.

Anyway, from my perspective, I think it should be pretty hype. 7-0, coming off a bye, chance to welcome the team back after a big win, etc. However I saw in an earlier post that there were still 14K unsold tix, although that was before the NW win.

Will it sell out? Will the crowd be hyped to welcome the team back or a little sleepy after a bye week and with a seemingly weak opponent. I want these guys to see Kinnick at it's best.

I predict that there will be 62k to 63k there. It is a 230 game, which could help push ticket sales as high as 65k.

It is crazy to think that Iowa could be a top ten team that day, and won't approach a sellout. I hope I'm wrong.

We will sell out. It's going to be loud and hostile. I just have a feeling. This fan base is pumped up now

I love 2:30 games but I think the ticket sales may suffer a bit because it is Halloween and those with little kids may skip. On the other side, Halloween games are always fun so hopefully it brings out more college aged kids.

We attended the Maryland game last year with our son's family from Fort Meade. Except for the game results, we had a really great time. The Maryland fans sitting around us and on the way to rhe stadium were very friendly and cordial. We were up in the nosebleed area but at mid field. It was a little scary, but got used to it. Loved the campus.

Oh people will come Ray. People will most defiantly come.

I doubt it will sell out but if we can get above 65k, the stadium looks and sounds pretty full.

They don't need to care about Maryland. They need to care about their 7-0, top 15 team that is leaving it's guts out on the field every weekend. Would be a shame not to sell out.

Won't be a sellout. Won't be any more sellouts this year. Has nothing to do with the quality of the present team and only a little to do with opponents. It has to do with this program alienating the fan base over the past 5 years, with the result being 7,000+ season ticket defectors. There just simply aren't enough casual fans with enough motivation to buy enough single game tickets. We'd have to have Ohio St or Notre Dame on the schedule next month to generate the kind of ticket demand that would produce a sellout. The effect of losing all those long-time committed ticket holders cannot be understated. It is going to take years to rebuild that foundation, and will take a combination of continued quality play, as well as improved promotion and game day experience.

However, as was alluded to above, there should still be a good 63K in house and a lot of excitement, so it should still be a great college football environment for Maryland folks and everyone else in attendance.

Reports are the Maryland game has sold 61k, which is a good jump from last week. Another good week and we could have a solid crowd.

The Minnesota game is down to singles and looks probable to sellout.

It may take a while to get back to the previous season ticket numbers. But next year the Hawkeyes will likely be coming off a 10+ win season with CJB and co. coming back, and host ISU, NW, Wisky, Michigan and Nebraska. Season ticket sales could snap back in a hurry.

The crowd has been really loud even when it isn't a sellout. A 2:30 game should make for a raucous crowd. There are around 9,000 seats left. Will probably sell another 3 to 4 for the game. Will be a great crowd.

This, the fans in attendance have been great this year. 63k means that upper corners and the visitor stripe have gaps, but it seems "full" otherwise. Also, at 63k driving/parking is a bit easier but all of the real tailgates are still set up.

Nice weather, 2:30 game, should be a fantastic Saturday. MD puts up an entertaining fight and it will be loud. Plus it is Halloween, so students in costume add to the fun.

Where are your seats?

I expect a crowd in the 68,000 range. Afternoon games help because it gives more people time to tailgate ... and/or sleep in and not have to be in IC at the crack of dawn for an 11 am game ... I think there will be lots of walk up sales ... I used to have season tickets until the end of 2012 ... Been buying single game tickets this year and been to all of them except NTexas ... Not sure if I will make it over from DSM but the afternoon start might help me out on this end ... Go Hawks! Let's continue to enjoy this ride!

Maryland was tied 21 with OSU for a bit, they aren't horrible.

First off, you're wrong on the fact that there 'won't be any more sellouts this year.' IF Iowa is sitting at 10-0 with a chance to clinch the Big Ten West at home vs. Purdue, then yes it will without question be a sell-out. I would venture to guess that Minnesota will be close or near a sell-out if we are still undefeated after the next two weeks. I would be shocked if Kinnick is not a sell-out for Senior Day vs. Purdue and a chance to seal the deal for the Big Ten Title game.
