EXCELLENT article on explaining why the US has so many MASS shootings.

Except that gun free zones are the places targeted for mass shootings...

Is their specific evidence of this? I know a certain pizza place in CR that is very open about allowing guns, in fact I saw a guy packing in there. I was more concerned about a crossfire than being safe because this guy was packing.

Check out the movie theater shootings, guns weren't allowed. Check out the schools, guns weren't allowed.

Do you see this happen at gun shows,, cop conventions, etc?

Um the pizza reference actually backs my statement, thanks.

Yeah....It didnt stop a guy from crashing into a Luby's in texas and killing 23. This was Texas, there were no armed people around?

Texas didn't allow for concealed carry until 1995 when George W Bush signed it into law. Up until that point Governor Ann Richards had vetoed laws allowing it. So actually you just strengthened the argument for more guns. The blood in Luby's is on her hands.

Its funny that you assume that other people carrying is in their calculations at all. They know they are going to die anyway.

I have little faith in concealed carry cowboys doing well in these situations. In fact, I would be more afraid of them killing other people in the chaos of the situation.

"They know they are going to die". Then why do some of them run, give up and get put in jail (nearly every mass shooter thus far is in jail or heading there (not dead yet)? It's hilarious that you believe that isn't part of their thought process "at all".

The LEO that I have conversations with have a much different mindset than you for CC. The LEOs actually appreciate and understand that those that CC are the least of their worries. As to have a CC permit requires a class and those that take the class invest in range time, which equates to pretty accurate shots.

Best of luck to you.

Ohhh....a class....and targeting shooting...thats just like the chaos of a shooter in a restaurant. I am sure they are really well prepared....o_O

Why don't we see mass shootings like this in China or Japan? Certainly those people put more pressure on themselves to succeed than we do.

Japan is a homogeneous society and the cultural pressure is so strong that such actions aren't even considered.

In China, the government is in charge of mass shootings.

Perhaps. Or perhaps it's because Japan and China don't insist every last idiot own guns.

You enslave folks with the cloak of victimhood, with no way to cope, and they lash out when their false reality shatters.

Exactly what liberalism does. They create groups of victims, and then encourage these victim groups to protest, and then when changes do not happen as they want, and they never do, they get REALLY pissed off. So you have liberals fanning the flames of every know issue, and then when people explode, they claim it is the gun that is the problem.

Don't you find it the slightest bit odd that you don't consider guns a contributing factor in gun violence?

How do you get prepared for something? A wing and prayer?

You can't prepare much for something like that. That's the point, and someone without experience wielding a dangerous weapon in such situations doesn't inspire confidence. In fact it could certainly make matters worse.

Neither does the U.S. the beauty of this great nation is that you can own zero or own all you want.

It will always be that way.

Unfortunately mental illness is the root of the problem but never spoken about publically especially by liberals.

Until we start building more insane asylums and until we start locking up those with mental illnesses we will always have tragedy's.

Yeah, conservatives are rallying to pay more taxes for that. Who are you kidding? Look how mental health is funded in Iowa alone through the county system and a locked dollar amount that fell behind inflation long ago.

Its not all guns, mental illness plays a big role. You combine unstable people with too easy access to guns and you get what we get here on a near monthly basis.
