A friend swears he saw a Cardinal player or two in the Milwaukee Casino the previous Friday.
The casino would know. Debit card usage, unless they used nothing but cash. Also, security cameras etc. I just don't know how'd they legally get that from the casinos. The hotels too would have security cameras galore. I'm betting every room may very well have a camera, if it is a modern hotel.

I'd like to know how exactly they got out. From what I understand, when teams have been hotel quarantined, they send extra security to make sure nobody breaks the quarantine.

If it truly happened, they'd know by now who it was. My hypothesis still is the virus got in at St. Louis that first series, before they hopped the flight to Minneapolis - and spread on the plane rides after. The virus has to incubate, and it incubates in each person differently as far as time until it tests positive. Then, you have the ripple effect of players with the bugs still mingling in locker rooms etc with uninfected players, possibly passing it along.

That's why I say - for all we know, the entire 30 man and team support/travel staff could have the bugs in them - and it is just taking time for the flowers to bloom so to speak.

So if this is a second outbreak. Are the Cards looking at another 2 weeks of being shutdown?

What is the point of these taxi squads? I thought it was to cover in case of something like this happened but now in two separate cases they didn't implement them. Are they only using them as injury replacements and not to keep the team playing in case of a quarantine?

If they aren't going to use the taxi squads to keep the game going, the games should be forfeited if they cannot be played.

In case a second outbreak is cancelling games, the team should just be done for the season.

They screwed this up big time. MLB I doubt was expecting a virus outbreak wiping out half a roster. That's why they didn't create a sort of pool bubble to where the pool players could play in live games.

A normal minor league season, call-ups are playing live games. These pool players are not. In a normal season, you're also not replacing half your roster in one swoop.

Just...unfortunate.

This whole season is becoming a joke, and the eventual "World Series" championship will have no legitimacy whatsoever.
The whole season was already a joke and was going to be nothing more than an exhibition. If the Cards can't play the 60 games then I guess they'll just have to go with the teams with the highest winning percentage based on the games played...

MLB took a short cut in planning. You can't travel with 58 people. Poor planning. They should of had squad 2 and coaches practicing at home stadium for this exact situation, ready to play when needed. Seven days to get over the virus goes against all science. Even after two weeks I still wouldn't want to play them.

St Louis is done. Schedule around them and continue the season.

Even that would not work. Only way would be sequestering in say 10 game grouping in cities with multiple stadiums and playing amongst those teams. Or maybe you do 6 sites for each Division / Region play and the top 2 from each go to playoffs. Best few records get bye. But this is falling apart.

Evidently Shildt was on radio this morning and said a few have had to go to the emergency room to get checked out. Nobody was hospitalized, but I'm betting there will be players in the first wave not coming back all that soon. Please let it be that none of them are affected permanently too.

Yep, it would well be a career ending illness for some, judging from the organ damage that many survivors sustain.

Little brother.
Haha, someone is a little excited about finishing a season better than Cubs for first time in 5 seasons. Maddon says you're welcome. The Ross era is going to be even worse for you, Cardhusker. These should be forefeits, nice trash Mizery team you have there

So that will be what, 13 games postponed for them after that series? No way they can make those up logistically
Correct I assume win% rule adopted shortly which isn't fair but no other way besides them being disqualified which I'd be in favor of.

I just enjoy watching you babies cry about the rules of a season that probably never should have been played in this format.

Cry on cubbie fans. ;)
