I know someone who knows Mark and they say he’s actually a pretty decent guy out of the public sphere. This policy change of heart is encouraging. Seeking the truth and transparency are good long term values. Overt censorship by unelected bureaucrats from dubious multinational organizations is anti-American.

Facebook has been filling up space with a lot of the same garbage filling twitter now. The number of "Angel Reese is great and Caitlyn Clark steals babies" random posts forced into my feed is ridiculous. It's becoming as unusable as Twitter is these days.

I don't use or give a shit about facebook, but this is a huge, wonderful change of direction. Our push away from free speech and toward European style thought and speech police in recent years has been scary. And the weaponization of "misinformation" and fact checking has been nothing short of a disaster.
Our mainstream media and government fact checking thought police have been so thoroughly discredited in recent years, it's frankly amazing they haven't all crawled into a hole by now. From being wrong on nearly everything about COVID, to lies about everything from Hunter Biden's laptop and business dealings to Biden's mental acuity, to the border, its amazing anyone in the government and mainstream media "misinformation beat" even has a microphone anymore.
Make no mistake, this anti free speech, control the narrative, fact-checking "misinformation" regime is exactly why Trump is president today. Indirectly, because the media has thoroughly discredited itself through trying to police "facts" that at least half the country doesn't even slightly believe them anymore about anything.
But I'd also say that it's DIRECTLY responsible. Only because they'd gotten away with outrageously misleading the public about everything from COVID origins to mask effectiveness to voting rights in Georgia, could they have even thought that they could bullshit their way through labeling Biden's obvious mental and physical decline as "misinformation". The guys was so incredibly, totally compromised, as obvious to literally the entire public (even Democrats overwhelmingly were against him running two years ago), can you imagine the amount of hubris to thinking you could gaslight all of America into thinking he was "as sharp as ever"?

Anyone looked at Facebook recently? It’s your parents and a bunch of tin foil hatter morons. If you don’t limit your view to your friends feed you get flat earther page, ufos, deep state nonsense, and countless other fact free posts. Hell, even when trout unlimited or caltrout post the comments are filled with absolute nutters. I’ve deleted it from my phone and only keep my account so my folks can see pic of the kids.
With one addition...my Jeep club uses a FB group and I have some hobby groups as well. Anything outside those lines is chaos.
