Favorite 1 play ever.

This is a great list and covers most of what I was looking to post, including #5 which I think deserves more recognition.

The successful boot against Indiana by Stanzi during that comeback in 2009 (?) was fun. Fun game.

Yeah the Sash pitch to Hyde for the score was maybe the loudest single moment I have heard Kinnick in person. The Wisconsin game in 2004 may have been louder overall, but that single moment was louder than anything I had experienced.

Fake FG at #5 Illinois in 1990 while already up 28-7 in the 2nd quarter. Put Iowa up 35-7. Talk about going for the kill

Although not my favorite Iowa play of all time, I was at the game and a real “nail in the coffin” play. I really miss Hayden Fry taking full advantage of what the defense gave him. Fake field goal is at 7:05, but was fun to reminisce through the entire first half. Ilinois had a real hatred for Iowa at the time due to Bruce Pearl reporting Illinois recruiting violations to NCAA. Some Illinois fans were real jerks prior to the game.

One of my favorites not yet mentioned was the 2002 Michigan game shovel pass from Brad Banks to Jermelle Lewis. Great play call, and an amazing run after catch by Lewis to finish off Michigan that day.

Man there are just too many plays. Buzzer beaters are the best. "The Catch" is an all time play probably #1. Realistically I have about 30 favorite plays.

impossible to pick one. 7 got 6. Clocks running out and drew Tate doesn't know that. fgs to beat Michigan twice Pitt Penn st. we could have a top 10 of just Akrum. Marv cook to beat osu. long bootleg. sash to hyde.

2012 against n Illinois. 3 minutes left 3rd and 9 and Iowa goes to Damon Bullock for a touchdown. Looking Back Now it was pretty insignificant in a losing season but at the time that was just an amazing play.

Adrian Clayborn standing over a over rated Michigan QB crying on the field, after almost dislodging his head from body.

Yanda knocking out clown LB close 2nd

Syracuse goal line stand, I know it isn't 1 play but what a series of plays

Let me take this on a slight tangent, if I may;
The mention of "Seven got six" and Gus Johnson almost passing out with "HE CAUGHT IT!........C!....J!....BEATHARD!" got me thinking. What is your favorite media call of an Iowa play?
I love it. I love it. I love it

Speaking of Drew Tate his parents were at the Houston game watch Saturday. After he was cut by Ottawa Saskatchewan contacted him. However he decided his playing career was over and told them not interested and has moved on to coaching career at Coastal Carolina.

I have been watching Iowa football for so long that it would be impossible to pick out just one favorite play. But one I always remember fondly occurred on September 17, 1983 at Penn St before they were in the B1G. Chuck Long throws a fairly deep pass to Ronnie Harmon over the middle and then Harmon proceeds to zigzag across the field to score a TD. Iowa wins 42-34. Great play in a great game.

There are many but I will always go with Tate to Holloway. I was sure we had lost that game but miracle throw and catch happened and we sent Nick Saban and LSU home as losers.

This is the play that’s making it hard for me to straight up say Tate to Holloway, which i was in the LSU section for.

A buddy and I were in the 10th row or so up on the west side at the 5 yard line so this happened right in front of us. This is in my top 3, certainly.

This is my personal favorite as well. I was in the front row in the south endzone (back when it was general admission, we got there when the gates opened every game that season so we could literally stand on the field).

Clark caught that pass right in front of us and in the excitement we ran into the endzone a few feet as he put his hands in the air and turned back toward his team ready to celebrate. I was one of the first to smack him on the shoulder pads after the touchdown.

What is your single (or more) favorite Hawkeye play ever? Could be a trick play, or a game winning play, or just a well executed run. If possible, share a video.

Two (technically three) of my favorites happened in the same game.

1. The pinball INT by Tyler Sash for a TD against Indiana in 2009.

2. The back to back Touchdowns on deep slants to McNutt and DJK

Clayborn blocked punt-returned for TD vs PSU.
Honorable mentions: 7 for 6 vs MSU, Tate to Holloway, Roth gator chomp

Someone help me out with the video, but I think it was 2014, against Pitt, CJB came in for Jake, play action pass, spun the ball in his hand, then bombed one to Powell? I remember thinking, we finally have a QB again.

Oh yeah, he brought us back for the win too.

Wisconsin fumbles on our 1-yard line in 2015. Without that no perfect season.

Runner- up: Tate-to-Holloway secures 3rd straight top 10 finish (i.e. welcome to college football’s elite). Dolph’s unforgettable “I don’t believe what I just saw!”
