Cornell, indeed. I don't think Wood had the range, and I feel part of his allure is nostalgia on 'what could have been', similar to a Syd Barrett and a number of other who left the music scene too early. Having said that, I agree Wood needs to be part of the discussion. Certainly a better vocalist than Vedder who replaced him. Staley was very good, but think Cantrell was the mastermind and just melded their minor tone with Layne.Chris Cornell.
