Federal Buyout

We are at the debt limit and operating under a continuing resolution for another month and a half.....where's the money going to come from?
From the months of Sep-Dec this year because they’ll no longer be getting paid. If they didn’t take the buyout they’d still be getting paid.

They take the buyout and get paid for 7 months. Paychecks every 2 weeks. It ends in September.

Russia, China, Iran have to be laughing their asses off.

I think they got a lot of that out of their systems when China took a dump on the billions we've been throwing at AI with their own $6MM model that functions as well and only took 2 months to build that's now on American phones......right on the heels of Trump announcing $500BB going to AI development. They even said hey, here's the code

If it's not a lump sum, I stand corrected although it is still not funded after whenever the CR expires

Between the hiring freeze and people who will leave to avoid this mess…. It’s going to be bad for a long time for anyone who needs services from these agencies. If someone wanted to hire someone now the HR process, posting of the job, interviews, background check and orientation it takes nearly 6 months to get someone to start. A lot of people are going to be overworked or things just will have gaps and not get done.

You act like Trump cares if the government provides good service. Starving agencies of workers will simply help to reinforce that government isn't working, and it needs to be destroyed.
I don't think he factored in that people like our national parks and their local ag office being staffed by a veteran who knows how to do their job.

"Project 2025 is going to be part of Trumps S2 Presidency!, Project 2025 is bad1"

"Whats 2025, I never heard of it?"

"He said he didn't know, you libs are just crazy!"

Hey look, another 2025 goal is underway. Anyone want to revisit RoeVWade being Step 1 towards a goal of a Federal ban and that the State's Right issue is just a BS deflection? Just because YOU can't or don't see it doesn't mean the rest of us can't.

Good. Clean out all that dead wood. Fat and lazy government workers on cruise control who work 8hrs a day and do actual work maybe 3hrs of that need to GTFO.

Why do you think some of them are fighting so hard not to return to the office? Because they are getting paid to stay home and not do a god dam thing all day.

I’m not sure if any of you have seen the job market right now… But it’s absolutely atrocious. And with Trump blowing everything up, it’s not going to get any better.

These people would be absolutely stupid to take this buyout unless they are in a position to retire right after it runs out.

I think most of the folks that take it will be close to retirement or were already in the process of getting another job.

It will eliminate some of those positions though if they don't decide to refill.

I don't see it being the predicted 5-10% though.
