Ferentz announces coaching rearrangements

Kirk can name Knute Rockne his running game coordinator for all I care ... Kirk will be gone after next season anyway ... So really none of this will matter ... Let him rearrange those deckchairs on the Titanic all he wants because this ship is going down anyway. This debacle that has become Iowa football will finally be behind us and Kirk can take his astonishing 115-85 record with him ...

Probably what is deserved. As another poster mentioned above, last year we were 81st in the nation. Say that jumps up to 65th. You still think we should give him credit because it "improved"?

Where did I say we should give him credit if it improves? Your reading comprehension is second only to Kilroy's.
And you're such a d*ck, YOU wouldn't have anything good to say if it went to 1st. You would just start babbling about how bad every defense we played was, blah, blah, diarrhea of the mouth, blah, blah... GO BE A FAN OF SOMEONE ELSE, FTLOG.....
So... you don't think he should get credit if it improves? Isn't that what you were implying should happen with your question?

And not surprisingly since you only troll the football board, I would have good things to say about the situation if we suddenly went to 1st in the nation for rushing. I complement the basketball team pretty much whenever I am on the BB board and really enjoy that part of the Iowa program. Unlike you, I can look at the athletic teams of Iowa in a rational way and not have to be 100% positive or 100% negative. I just fail to see many positives with the Iowa football program right now. Sorry if you feel that makes me a d*ck.

No, I don't feel 'that' makes you a d*ck. You're just a d*ck.
I only 'troll' the BSCI crowd. I have great conversations with the 'rational' crowd.

Smoke and mirrors is all it is, and getting his son one step closer to OC. Running game coordinator, hilarious. Coordinate what? There's no talent in the backfield. Might as well have a chewing gum coordinator.

Is that your opinion? You state it as fact. I really wish you BSCI's would at least figure out the difference and how to express an 'opinion'. I do not believe he will, but that is just an opinion. Are you willing to support that statement with any evidence? How about a wager? If you're wrong, you will leave this site forever. If i'm wrong, I will reveal my true identity.

I would say you pretty much nailed it.

I was also wondering why the running backs coach can't coordinate the run game.

THAT'S what the team has been missing! Should have seen it, couldn't put my finger on it. We are turning the corner.

Apparently Kirk never told Higdon his plans for installing a "running coordinator". Kid wouldn't even have looked at Michigan if he knew this was in the works.

Or maybe he did.

I've applied for the Tiny KF Notebook Coordinator position.

Agree......

I think it just means Kirk wants to give his son a raise and has to justify it somehow. He sure as hell hasn't done anything with the offensive line to warrant one. What a farce.

I'd love for you to say that to each running back on the team. I'd laugh my ass off while they gave you what you deserve. I don't see how you can justifiably insult 18 and 20 year olds while you, yourself have never accomplished anything comparable to them.

Pretender now wants others to believe that she has "taken the NCAA rules test on many occasions..."

This one has real potential! Quite possibly a Pretender top ten entry. Right up there with attendance smack (aka: StubHub-gate), arrest smack (aka: just don't ever expect that list Pretender promised), 'Liar Alert' thread and the vanity license plate debacle.

So, let's hear all about it, Pretender. Tell us all about the 'expert' you are on all things NCAA. It follows suit to how you were so knowledgeable about anything and everything to do with the University of Iowa Athletic Department... well, until Doc called you out and you, in your very best Pretender way, admitted to only being a work-study employee (do not believe that one either). Or, how about you going on and on and on a few years ago about Iowa not selling out football games? The ultimiate end result of that one was that you were exposed for not attending those games yourself, but then making it worse by trying so vainly to claim that because StubHub was offering tickets to Iowa games it just could not be sold out!

BTW - want to see something very, very telling? These 400 or so posts here from you since the beginning of the year look really familiar to anyone that was around during your 'Liar Alert' days on HR. Want to embarrass yourself with a 'I only post about three times a day on average...' statement again?

Make it simple. It is easy enough to verify whom has and/or has not certified as a legitimate NCAA coach or official. Just provide the proof.

Or, continue your charade as Pretender I. Liar, isu fan in disguise.

Because he is one of the weakest coaches on the staff. He's shown a bit as a recruiter though.

Quite frankly, I don't even know what most of this rant is even about. I was a student and graduate assistant in the UI athletic department. We took the NCAA tests. We had to know the rules. From there, I was employed in college athletics and required to take the NCAA test. For the record, more athletic personnel take the test than just coaches.

As for the rest of your mumble jumble, I have no idea what you are talking about. And how have you ever exposed me as not attending football games? Because first of all, I do and secondly, you have never exposed anything about me. Reminds me though that you never did respond about your game attendance at wbb games.

Oh and BTW, 5, I still have pretty close ties with people in the UI athletic department.

Didn't think we could top the same ol' shat show from the post season press conference, but I actually feel this has done that.

Quite amazing actually.

We are all being trolled.

KF...that sly old fox...

In one swoop, promotes his son and increases season ticket sales!

What a move, this is the one fans have been anticipating...unfortunately.

Iowa City Pimp.

I can just imagine another "meeting of the minds" between Gary Barta and Kirk Ferentz on the subject:

GB: "Kirk, you have to do something to get this fan base excited or ticket sales are going to decline and you and I both are going to be taking a lot of heat. I'm thinking maybe you should look at replacing Greg Davis with an up and coming OC."

KF: "I've got a better idea, Gary. How about I give my son a promotion and a raise? That should get them fired up, don't you think?"

GB: "Kirk, that's brilliant! Why didn't I think of that? Guess that's why you make the big bucks!"

Not really. There have been rearrangement of responsibilities almost every year. Not sure how you'd draw that conclusion......oh wait, forgot who I was responding to.
smile.r191677.gif
He's able to draw that conclusion because he's not a moron!

Apparently, Barta's annual performance evaluation of Brian was very glowing and merited a closer look at promotion and raise. Barta probably recommended the promotion so Kirk's hands were tied.

Quite frankly, what you have posted is just another in a very long string of lies. No surprise to anyone with the ability to think on their own.

But hey, as so many times before, let's play it your way. The discussion concerning NCAA rules was about current situations - not those that may/may not of happened two decades or longer ago. So, are you stating that when you were living this fantasy of being a student/graduate assistant so many years ago, that you have perfect knowledge today from something you supposedly did twenty years ago? Or, are you trying to mumble through some other pretense of being beyond middle aged and still taking these required NCAA tests now? Either way, just produce the certified documents and all is good. Otherwise, this is just one more of your overblown ego and obsession driven tirades here on HR.

BTW Pretender... do give Jane and Tracy everyone's best. That flannel brigade social media just has to be buzzing these days!

As far as NCAA rules, there have always been dead periods, quiet periods. That is the NCAA rules being discussed. As far as perfect knowledge, just the fact that coaches across the nation, including at UI, inadvertently break rules all the time would indicate that no one will know every single rule perfectly.

Why attempt to cloud this issue with minutia, Pretender. You stated, in response to another telling you to review current rules/policies regarding NCAA recruiting that YOU know the rules and do not need to review anything. Has nothing at all to do with what any other coach is or is not doing. Has only to do with your current abilities to know and understand those rules and policies.

YOUR explanation was that - as a supposed grad assistant/student, you sat for tests that provided you with the basis for your claim that YOU have perfect knowledge about all things relative NOW. Either you are stuck in just one more lie (and the evidence of many of the others still exists right here on HR) or you are Pretending once again to be something YOU are not.

Easy to solve... just provide the certificates showing your successful completion of said test(s).

Once a Pretender, always a Pretender and you are nothing but the Pretender.
And where is your proof I posted lies? Just because you say?

Yes, 5, I know the rules about coach's contacts with recruits, which is what was being discussed.

Do you ever contribute anything on here or do you just stalk all my posts to argue some long rant that the good majority of the post has nothing to do with what is being discussed?

And others here should believe YOU because....?

It was YOU, Pretender, in your very typical Pretender fashion that wanted to boast about having NCAA certifications.... "having taken the test multiple times". No one else brought that up. Only YOU.

So, why so reluctant to provide some documentation showing that YOU do have those qualifications?

Prove it or be known as a Pretender and liar as only YOU know how to be here on HR.

I can see why numerous people are on you. You do like to talk sh*t and then change the story to cover your BS.
You were implying he was hired to 'just' recruit and I told you to look up the rules, but you say you KNOW all the rules, but you are not able to cite any. You never state that you worked in a FOOTBALL program in your graduate studies or any other time, so why would you test on FOOTBALL recruiting? You do understand the 'rules' for each sports recruiting is quite different and unless you are involved in football, no one would require you to take a NCAA FOOTBALL RECRUITING RULES TEST for any kind of studies or ceritfcations. What license, authorization, or certification, etc. did you aquire that required you take such a test? Like a said before, BULLSH*T....

You and 5 are not 'numerous people.' What story have I changed? Specifics please. Here are the rules we were discussing per your post. CONTACT PERIODS and RECRUITING CONTACT. Now who is changing the story? Perhaps you need to review your own posts.

So we bring in a new recruiting coordinator to allow him to focus solely on recruiting and now we are giving coaching responsibilities to him to take away from the recruiting?

You do realize that you cannot recruit year round, don't you. Contact periods are limited. I'm sure it is still his number one priority. One of the GA's will probably help with the DB's like they did last year, but appears they think wallace can help them there. PP might be trying to free himself up some to focus on the whole defense....

You need to go to the NCAA website and read about recruiting rules. Very limited as to when you can 'communicate' with recruits....

I had the same reaction. So much for having a dedicated recruiting coordinator to fix our recruiting problems.

This was one of the comments you made that I referred you to recruiting rules about. You convienently left it out of your last reply. Like I said, you are very good at trying to change stories. Are you in politics? You talk in circles like one. And you are NEVER wrong.

I didn't conveniently leave it out. That was the question that led you to rant about NCAA rules and contact periods. You proceeded to let me know that coaches have limitations on contact, which I stated I knew. What story is being changed?

I guess you forgot to ignore me.
