The state will recommend a 45-day jail term for the former Iowa State football player, who assaulted former Iowa basketball player Jordan Bohannon.
Yep. Punched a guy in the head drunken downtown. A dick move, but not exactly assault with a deadly weapon. The encounter in the bar that precipitated this probably wasn't relevant in court (not immediate)...but on some level it's like ...yeah, Bohannon set this series of events into action so he got what he deserved.
He hasn’t been sentenced yet, right? The recommendation is for 45 days. If he gets that, it’s hardly a slap on the wrist. It would also give JBO’s Attorneys a chance to serve him upon refilling the lawsuit.

Slap on the wrist for sucker punching a guy in the head multiple times? If that little punk doesn't get time in the pen, at least make him clean the sh!tters at Kinnick after every home game.
Don't agree at all that he "got what he deserved". I'm sure JBo was lipping off, but nothing he could have SAID would remotely justify getting sucker punched multiple times in the head.
Perhaps not. But it wouldn't have happened had he not screwed with some people earlier. (the details of that have been posted previously). He didn't just "say something".
From what I've seen the kid has a clean record...this is one off. (apart from the poor judgement he showed becoming a clone). Are you suggesting he's suddenly going to become a serial criminal? Come on...
Or making him read all of your posts. But I guess that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
I don't have the original story in front of me, but if I recall he was throwing ice/water down on a group of people having a party at a downtown watering hole. The guy who hit him was part of that group who was looking for him after.
Ah they he deserved it. I'd just walk away. Why engage. He deserves 45 days.
I heard it was a wedding party he was throwing the ice chips at as well. Should he have been punched like that? No. But if you’re throwing ice chips at the bride and company on the day of the wedding that kind of ups the insult verses just throwing chips at a bunch of drunk college kids dancing.
