Dumb. Kevin Warren is acting on behalf and at the behest of the university presidents - the collective who determined the fate of football. That's like starting a petition to terminate the church secretary for announcing that services and other church functions are cancelled.
Nevermind he put out a schedule, 3 days later he wanted to play in the spring, arrogantly tried to get support from the other P5's because the B1G was going it alone no matter what.Dumb. I am not overly impressed on how he managed his mission but I'm not the one doing his performance review. If I was, I'd dock him for how nice he was to Scott Frost.Nevermind he put out a schedule, 3 days later he wanted to play in the spring, arrogantly tried to get support from the other P5's because the B1G was going it alone no matter what.
Then when there was tremendous blowback finds a condition that can happen with the common cold. By his new standard we should never play any sport ever.
Warren is in a no-win public conundrum vis-à-vis his son and football. If the SEC ends up playing some games this fall, he had better tell his son to sit.
Practically everything I've read so far seems to indicate that the university presidents were deferring to the B10's Covid-19 medical task force.. It's likely that Warren was also ….. and the advice of legal counsel as well.Yes the presidents and chancellors made this decision but it seemed they lead him to this. Not him leading them what the direction athletics should be doing. Not a sign of a good leader.
If there was a vote of university presidents as has been reported, the commissioner should have given those political phonies more time to reconsider their positions. If other conferences continue with a season and have no covid-related problems, the conference has at least embarrassed itself and the consequences could be much more significant.Agree, such a knee jerk reaction.
There is still time to give it more thought.
Nevermind he put out a schedule, 3 days later he wanted to play in the spring,
He "chose to send his kid to school not in the conference"?The B1G hired a guy who chose to send his kid to a school not even in the conference? And he might allow his kid to play after cancelling the B1G season? You've got to be shitting me.....
I think they both probably played a part in the decision. My point still stands. He "chose to send his kid to school not in the conference"?
How the hell do you know that his son did not have a say, the final say, about where he wanted to go to college? Are you foolish enough to believe that all kids are automatically bound to attend a college decided upon for them by their parents? If so, if that's what you believe, maybe your parents should have better chosen where you attended school.
Well, this contradicts your earlier statement so which point still stands? At least you moved from a position of claiming actual fact ("he chose") to speculation ("I think they ..probably..").I think they both probably played a part in the decision. My point still stands.
That we shouldn't have hired a president whose own kid doesn't even go to a conference school. .and that he might actually play football for another conference with his father's blessing...... Understand now? This really isn't hard unless you make it hard.Well, this contradicts your earlier statement so which point still stands?
Let's see how the dominoes fall first before we play the blame game.
That said, having a son that plays in a rival conference (and one that has not cancelled fall sports as of this moment) is not a good look. If the SEC ends up playing some games this fall, he had better tell his son to sit.

Some here are in an angry fit of revenge due to cancellation and trying hard to find another angle to criticize Kevin Warren (oddly, for a decision which was nor his to make, nor did he make). Unfortunately, some have chosen to engage in pure speculation about the nature of his family relationship, freely attributing (without knowledge) family decisions kept private, and then criticizing Warren for the judgment of those decisions when they have no clue if he made them in the first place --even if it was entirely proper for him to do so. But sign the petition. And if his son says "Dad I'm an adult and will make my own decision. Thanks for your concern"
And we will never hear that conversation between them so why are everyone saying that would look bad?

Is that a question or a factual statement?Warren pressured them behind the scenes.

Oh no, pressure! University presidents are rarely subject to pressure. They probably folded!Warren pressured them behind the scenes.
