I just started Episode 2 and I have to say that it's pretty f'ing great. Definitely more of adult series having so far a brothel scene, a cold-blooded killing, a very hot co-star, and a droid being pissed on. Written by Tony Gilroy who wrote Rogue One, the Bourne series, and my favorite movie of all time: Michael Clayton.

Grew up a huge Star Wars kid.

Had the original on VHS and I wore those things out.

Still a fan, but I just can't keep up anymore.

So many different movies and tv shows now.

Going to watch them tonight. Rogue One was my favorite spinoff post Episodes 1-6, including episodes 7,8,9 which were woke garbage. Han Solo was awful. Looking forward to Andor because of Gilroy. Should be enjoyable.

I agree with you that Rogue One is the best post Lucas movie and that 8 and 9 were worse than the prequels and are essentially unwatchable. But 7 was perfectly fine, better than any of the prequels and about on par with Return of the Ewok Stuffed Toys. Han Solo I absolutely hated the first time I saw it as the cinematography is just garbage and I hated how his cliched origin story was so much worse than the origin story in the novels, but on rewatch it wasn’t horrible. Definitely miles better than 8 & 9.

I'm with you! I loved Rogue One, it's my favorite Star Wars film after Empire. I loved The Force Awakens...hated The Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker was okay--better than any of the prequel films. I will say this about the prequels, they are actually made a titch better with the additions of the Clone Wars and Bad Batch with CW Season 7 being some of the best Star Wars out there (bested only by Rebels--which has my favorite two characters Ahsoka and Thrawn).

I’m a big fan of Rebels as well. I’m glad we’re going to get to see a live action Ezra Bridger soon. And hopefully, they use the time travel element brought about in Rebels to completely redo Episodes 8 & 9.

My personal ranking of all of the animated and live action Star Wars tv shows and movies (but not counting the many Legos shows about half of which I haven’t even seen or the “micro” series where the segments are five mins or so) are:

Empire Strikes Back 10/10
A New Hope 10/10
Rogue One 10/10
Mandalorian 9/10
Force Awakens 9/10
Return of the Jedi 8.5/10
Rebels 8.5/10
The Clone Wars (series) 8/10
Bad Batch 8/10
Phantom Menace (controversial I know, but I find it a passable albeit over the top action flick with great design and FX, unlike the boring political slogfests, terrible dialogue and unrealistic relationships of the other two prequels) 6/10
Resistance 5/10
Han Solo 5/10
Boba Fett 4/10
Obi Wan Kenobi 4/10
Droids 3.5/10
Caravan of Courage: An Ewoks Adventure 3/10
Revenge of the Sith 2.5/10
Attack of the Clones 2/10
The Clone Wars (animated movie) 2/10
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor 2/10
Ewoks (series) 1.5/10
Holiday Special 1/10
Last Jedi 0.5/10
The Rise of Skywalker 0/10

I agree with your list with only ONE exception. I give Kenobi a 7/10 with the last 2 episodes being 9/10. I love Ewan McGregor as Obi. He's the one saving grace of Episodes 2 & 3.

He was good. And Darth with the shattered helm was a good visual. Literally everything else about it sucked. From toddler Leia “running” away from adults in something that looks like a comic farce. To the big escape plan being Leia hiding under a coat. To a female actress hired to be Obi Wan’s girlfriend who then refused to do those scenes making the writers and production team cave. I could go on and on about the stupidity in Obi Wan.

But yes I agree that Ewan did a fantastic job as always. Just like Patrick Stewart was awesome but Picard was awful Dreck.

Ya the Leia running scene was pretty good internet fodder, but I was more forgiving of the show's lesser moments because I felt the primary focus of the story--Ben--was pretty great.

Ben was supposed to have a girlfriend? Thank God that didn't pan out.

Yes, Picard was bad while Discovery was/is TERRIBLE! Fortunately, Strange New Worlds is pretty fantastic minus the one episode where everyone was in theater costume.

You didn’t like Picard? Also didn’t hear about the obi girlfriend thing…

This EW article kind of sanitizes the story and doesn’t blame her for the change, but I read in other articles I can’t easily find that blamed it Entirely on her for taking the role and then throwing a temper tantrum about it after she accepted.

I loved TNG, one of my top 10 shows of all time. But Picard was absolutely terrible. I won’t mention spoilers other than to say one huge flaw with the show is that everything that happened in Season 1 was immediately discarded for Season 2. And apparently, everything that happened in Season 2 will be immediately discarded for Season 3. Also, another huge telling point about how awful Picard is….is due to the fact that several episodes deal with the consequences of time travel and Orville had ONE episode dealing with it the same year and the Orville episode is a modern classic, just a fantastic piece with lots of gray ethical versus moral dilemmas and the Picard episodes were boring one note trash.

Just watched the first 3 episodes. WOW. Really enjoyed it. In a weird way it reminds of lost with the music and split scenes and timelines…

Obi wan started badly but finishes awesomely, IMHO.

Going from Obi Wan to this show is like night and day. You can tell the difference with an actual good writer, who could give two s**** about Star Wars, which helps. And, it’s totally the opposite of Obi Wan, which visually looked like garbage.

Also, one of the crew andor is joining us the asshole on The Bear (original series on Hulu). Also, the episode was really good. Quite the series so far…
There's so much story to tell in the Star Wars universe that isn't Skywalker. Don't get me wrong, I love most of what Star Wars has to offer (my rankings/opinion mirror @FSUTribe76 's in Post #10), but we've got 9 movies and even more episodes revolving around the Skywalker Clan. Time to show us what else is out there.

I don't know how else to tell you this, but you are wrong about the prequels. They are not great but they are better than Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. Plus, Rise of Skywalker is by far inferior to Last Jedi. Rise of Skywalker is just stupid and an insult to Star Wars fans. Last Jedi was also bad but was at least somewhat coherent and ambitious.

Honestly Last Jedi can be fixed into a pretty good movie with a few small changes.
1) Leia dies when she gets sucked out into space. Poe is forced into leadership and Leia talks to him through the Force.
2) Finn and Rose skip the entire casino planet and go right onto the bad guy ship. They are prisoners at the end of the movie.
3) Instead of sulking on Ac-tu, Luke is there communing with all the Jedis of old and/or still has some trainees
4) Rey accepts Kylo's invitation to be co-rulers.
5) Poe leads a narrow escape of committed resistance from Crait, maybe with the help of Luke's trainees or just Leia's Force ghost.

Do that and all of the sudden Episode 9 is set up to be pretty compelling with characters that have something on the line.

I agree. Rise of Skywalker is just stupid. It's an insult. BUT, that's what I thought of Revenge of the Sith for 20+ years and now I enjoy watching it. I HOPE that happens with Rise, but I just don't know if it will. I really didn't like it.
