First three episodes of Star Wars - Andor just dropped on Disney +

I agree. Rise of Skywalker is just stupid. It's an insult. BUT, that's what I thought of Revenge of the Sith for 20+ years and now I enjoy watching it. I HOPE that happens with Rise, but I just don't know if it will. I really didn't like it.
If you ever find yourself enjoying a movie where people are successfully riding horses on the surface of a spaceship in the middle of outer space then I don't know what to tell you.

Correction, they were riding horses on the surface of a spaceship within orbit of a planet in the middle of outer space. Totally different and believable.

This would be a cool way to introduce Han Solo. Even if it’s like they did Wolverine I. x-Men first class. They ask him to help and he tells them to Eff off.

So far it’s been 10/10 in acting, 10/10 in FX, 10/10 in costuming and design and 1/10 in plot. Basically nothing much has happened since the first episode. Right now it’s as slow or slower than the LOTR series, just with much better production and acting. But it’s been SLOW.

...and yet I still really like it.

I guess I'm easier to please. I'd give it perfect 10s for acting, FX, costuming/design, music, and directing. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 for plot, although I did have some LOTR vibes with them walking around everywhere. They have been character building the past few episodes, setting up I think action this coming episode. It also seems to me that they are setting up multiple seasons, which the character development lends itself to.

Yes, the Mandalorian would've covered 5 episodes worth of Andor storyline in 15 mins.

I love the character development in this show. I love that I haven't seen a Jedi or heard "May the Force be with you". I think things will pick up next week for sure

Jumped to the end of the thread. Watched 1st episode and was, honestly, bored. Is this worth continuing?

Watch the 1st three episode before you decide if its for you or not. This my favorite Star Wars thing in long long time. There are 12 episodes this season so there is a lot of character development and it can be a little slow at times but I love this show.

I have gotta be honest, aesthetically it’s great through the first few episodes, and acting is good….but it’s been really, really hard for me to get into/hold my attention. Although the last few posts saying the later episodes are great may entice me to keep pushing forward…

It can be a little slow- but not a star wars person here and have been watching the day episodes release.

Maybe I just have no life.

I actually am a pretty big Star Wars fan….don’t keep up on the novels/expanded universe but love the movies and shows so far….except I’m struggling with this one.

I like this series and Mandalorian but not much else from anything recent. Obi Wan had some good moments but also some really poor ones. Boba Fett was mostly terrible. Like Mandalorian because though it’s pretty cheesy at times, it’s fun and has a throwback vibe to it. Andor is very different. Not an action thriller but rather is more about politics and deception so far. But, we know the rebellion is building and what transpires so we know the action will pick up at some point and we will have far more than action to have an interest in.

I thought boba fett was bad until it became Mando season 2.5 and Obi Wan was not good at all. So I really had no expectations for this show going in but it is one of the better Star Wars shows there is.

On a side note I am ready for the Star Wars universe to move away from the era of the skywalkers and rebellion era. Let’s explore the beginning years of the Jedi or years in the future from this last trilogy.

So surprised when I see this...sure the first few episodes were a bit slow and the Leia running from Bounty Hunters was bad parody comedy level, but that last 2 episodes were so good they fully redeemed the series IMO. It had the same emotional impact as the last 4 episodes of season 7 Clone Wars and...

Rebels Spoiler
and when Kanan dies in Rebels.

I think Andor does such a great job of exploring more star wars...while technically tied to the skywalker era, it's so different and so damn good! I agree, though, it'd be nice to have a series on the Sith Empire with some Darth Revan and Darth Nihilus!

From my understating on the Obi Wan series and why it looked so corny was because of Covid and cash restraints. Also Reva was a horrible character. This new blonde chick inside the empire that is the main baddy has been an amazing bad guy. The Reva character just ruined mostly everything in that series for me haha. If the main antagonist is a horrible actress it just brings the whole show down

YES! Dedra Meero of the ISB is a formidable adversary! She'd make a great Sith Lord!

Absolutely the best Star Wars we've had since Empire. I'm holding off on rewatching Rogue One until this is over then I'm going to throw it in. Rogue One is #2 on my all time Star Wars list.
I have Rogue One #1, then Empire at #2 and the OG Star Wars #3. I didn't mind The Force Awakens so maybe that is #4. The prequels and the last two all mostly sucked to me.

But... love Andor. Great series.

I need to rewatch Rogue One, it might go #1 on my list as far as movies. I really hope they have a season 2. The great thing about Andor, and I cannot say this about any of the movies or other series, is that I appreciate the Star Wars story much more. Actually knowing what the Rebels were fighting for without the pending doom of a planet killer.
