Foods you haven’t had in awhile

That's awesome, especially because I hate onions and can't eat them. They are the worst.
Years later, my next door neighbor and I would pool funds to cook and he was a firm believer in the benefits of onions. We fried up taters and diced onions routinely. Ole Bobby talked up the vitamin C benefit…

I know people that put sugar on their cottage cheese. Those same people are known to put a slice of lunch meat, like ham for example, on top of a donut before eating.

Because they're too lazy to go outside and grab a handful of dirt?
LOL
One of my favorite things on a salad bar are sliced beets. To each his own.
Onions? Yech. I know people who DELIBERATELY add a very thick slice of onion on a sandwich or a burger. No thank you.
I will use onion powder in cooking but that’s it.

I also like beets. It reminds me of Sunday dinner at my grandparents from my youth.

My grandmother canned beets, corn, green beans, tomatoes, etc…
Reaching up on the shelf to bring down a jar was such a pleasure.
Yep. My grandma would can everything from the garden and my grandpa could shoot or trap game and butcher any and all edible creatures.

Onions are good but be sure to use the correct onion. If you are eating them raw you need a good sweet onion. Yellow onions are best for grilling, etc.
