What is the overall emphasis of why CJ didn't connect with recievers? I realize he had an off day and it was cold and windy, but were the iowa recievers not open at all?
Nebbys DBs that good??
I'll hang up and listen.

He was 9-16, over 50% so not terrible. He didn't throw that much and as you mentioned, probably not the best condidtions.

He had open guys, but his throws on the run weren't quite on the money like they usually are. I'd chalk it up to the conditions.

Yeah, 50% is decent in those conditions, however when he sat in the pocket on 4 or 5 occasions it seemed there wasn't a reciever even close to being opened. Just interested to see what eddy was saying.

They were open. Looked to me CJ was holding on to the ball too long on a few plays. That fake reverse he hit Kittle on, could very easily been 6 if that ball comes out on time.

Yeah, I was thinking too that pass was a little to late, but maybe there was trouble up front and couldn't get the ball over the line fast enough. If i remember right it looked like he couldn't get a good grasp on the FB

Iowa has open receivers all day long. It was just a hard day with tee elements and for whatever reason CJ wasnt reading the field real well. He had tevaun for 6 twice on bootlegs that he threw incomplete behind the short receivers. The ball to kittle should have been 6. I'm actually not down at all on the offense after Friday. Ran the ball and had open receivers. I think CJ will play much better Saturday. He also seemed to struggle with Nebraska's spy on him which surprised me. He would start to scramble and then hesitate when he saw the spy. Can't be the only time all year he was spied on. I just think film study will be very valuable this week for the whole offense. We left a lot of plays and points on the field Friday, and yet we still controlled the game and the scoreboard.

Agree with all of that. Maybe Nebraska surprised him with some looks they didnt show on film, etc.........who knows. Tough conditions as well.

I will be curious to see how he plays in the perfect condition in the dome. This is because some are also speculating that his injury and lack of practice time are main culprits. If so we may not see much of an improvement in his accuracy.
And the guy seemed to be very accurate at the beginning of the season. Back then I was thinking how nice it was to have a QB like the ones I saw playing for some highly regarded teams on TV.
