Former Clinton Aid will plead the 5th...........

There goes the doesn't want to get in the middle of a partisan witch hunt theory....

The former aide to Hillary Clinton who helped set up and maintain her private email server has declined to talk to the FBI and the State Department inspector general’s office, as well as a congressional committee, invoking his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself, sources familiar with the investigation confirmed to Yahoo News. The move by Bryan Pagliano, who served on Clinton’s 2008 campaign and later as a technology officer in the State Department, to decline to cooperate in two federal probes considerably raises the stakes in the Clinton email investigation, the sources said. It confronts the Justice Department with a decision about whether to grant him immunity in exchange for his testimony...

You think she's going to get jail time? Look up Sandy Berger. He was Bill Clinton's National Security Advisor. He removed classified documents (some by stuffing them in his socks) from a National Archives reading room prior to testifying before the 9/11 Commission. Guess what his jail time was? Nothing. $50,000 fine, 2 years probation, and 100 hours of community service. Hillary isn't getting jail time for this. Sorry to let you know

Also, if it had been you or BABiscuit then nothing would happen to you either. Do you think as a private citizen you can't have a private Exchange server? Is you were actually SoS you would be savvy enough to get away with it. Just like Clinton is.

Not defending what she did, just pointing out your hyperbole in the above post.

You don't have to be SOS to have classified documents on a personal PC.

You will absolutely get questioned by authorities. On top of that try to wipe the hard drive?..... C'mon MAYNE

The Sandy Berger thing is so appalling that people don't believe it when you tell them what happened. Seriously.

American's have the right not to testify against themselves..or incriminate themselves. That is why.
Joel, first you need to read a little bit more about this guy. He wasn't just some techie who happened to be called in to set this up. He was -- and is -- a Clinton aide.

Second, of course he has the right to take the Fifth. But that has drawbacks. For one thing, while a court cannot consider it, the public at large can, and does. It's a public relations disaster. Nobody takes the fifth if they have nothing to hide. For another, if you are granted immunity from prosecution related to your testimony, you cannot refuse to testify. If you do, you go to jail.

Since it seems unlikely this guy committed any crime, Congress should grant him immunity and force him to testify.

I don't think this guy is a Susan McDougal who fell on the sword to bail the Clintons out of trouble, by refusing to testify. He likely can read the tea leaves, where Hillary will use him as the fall guy (Hillary isn't going to make Cheryl MIlls or Huma Abedin the fall guys), and he's not falling on the sword for Hillary. He'll likely get immunity but they want to get their ducks lines up, in what to ask him, before they grant him immunity.

He will end up missing if granted immunity and we all know it. Clinton will wipe his hard drive clean...

What this guy is saying is pretty much irrelevant in the long run. It fills up time for now but none of this matters until Clinton testifies. Clinton will have to explain herself coming up in October. If she doesn't provide a satisfactory explanation for all of this stuff, backed up by evidence, she will not be the nominee from the Democratic Party. Now, there is nothing she could say or do that will ever convince anyone on the right that she is anything but a murdering psychopath who will steal their babies and then eat them with fava beans and a nice chianti. However, that's not who she needs to convince. She needs to convince her own party and the independents that might vote for her that she isn't hiding anything. Right now, they aren't so sure.

Honestly, at this point, I think that if Biden commits Hillary is no longer the front runner. There are a lot of establishment Democrats who don't want to jump on Bernie's train but are looking for someone more reliable than Hillary, or at least with a lot less baggage and higher favorability ratings (which will drop immediately once the GOP and Super Pac machine targets them).

If Biden gets in without Hillary dropping out the DNC might just be anointing Bernie the nominee. His supporters are like Trump supporters, they are jumping to Biden because he gets in the race. They are loyal to Bernie only. They'll only move to someone else IF Sanders drops out. The establishment Dems would split their vote between Biden and Hillary. It's the ultimate Clinton/Obama family feud.

Plus, Biden is a lot like Hillary in that he looks better the less you see of him. He's a gaffe machine. The more he talks, the more trouble he makes for himself, which is why Obama has kept hidden away in an Arctic bunker for most of the last 7 years. Are the Dems really going to pin their hopes on a 73 year old white guy, who's never gotten more than 2% of the vote in 2 previous runs for president? Is Biden going to attract/excite young voters? Women voters? He's had some creepy old man comments and touching of women. I don't see it.

If the Republicans run my Kaisch Rubio ticket they are going to win in 2016. Especially if HRC is the nominee. HRC is done and the Democrats know it.

Obama hates her and he is going to take her down!

Okay, now you're getting into OiT territory.

Biden will likely wait just a little longer to see how the HRC e-mail debacle sorts out. If/when he states he decides to run, he forces everyone in the party (including the POTUS) to choose sides and that's not really what the DNC wants right now.

I don't understand how Biden running will be bad for the Dems? When you have a candidate like her, with so many skeletons, having backup plans can only be a good thing.

I think the worst case scenario for the GOP is a Biden-Warren ticket. Biden is one of those people who has transcended his own idiocy. He's sort of like the pet dog who pisses on the rug; people hold him to different standards than they would apply to ordinariy people (or dogs, in the case of the analogy). There are abundant reasons Biden should not be taken seriously. They don't matter.
