Former Iowa commit Beau Corrales suspended

Just hurry up and start paying these guys so I can have NCAA Football back on Xbox One!!!

I am not sure people understand that yes those things happen and student athletes have other income from the financial aid process and that was before stipends were allowed as well.

You mean like .....a free education isn't enough. I've seen numbers like $250000 is he value of all the benefits they receive over 4 or 5 years ....they deserve more! For this much they should be able to live within the rules provided....no different than a job any of us may go to. Actually a better paying job than most ....live by the rules!!
Not sure where I said they shouldn't the rules.

Very conservative napkin math. Iowa football generates $50 mil a year (conservative because that doesn't include donations by alumni that are correlated to the success of the football team). Divide by 100 football players (I understand only 86 scholarship players).

You could make the argument that each player generates $500,000 per year for the athletic department. Just saying.

You could make that argument, it is pretty unsound but it can be made.

The issue is the fact that if you pay the football players then you have to pay all of the student athletes which would then create an sustainable payout.
