With Drake Johnson slowed by an undisclosed injury, Michigan placed true freshman Karan Higdon in the lineup for the first time this season -- as the 5-foot-10, 190-pounder entered the game before juniors Derrick Green and Ty Isaac Saturday.

Higdon finished with 8 carries for 16 yards, and became the fourth true freshman to play this season -- joining receivers Grant Perry and Brian Cole (who is injured), along with defensive back Tyree Kinnel.

"Karan has been coming and improving every day," Harbaugh said. "We thought there'd be some speciality runs he'd be good at, and he was."

Thankfully, Iowa has been able to redshirt freshman RB.
