Back when freshmen were not eligible, I think there were 18 scholarships. Also a freshman coach. And they played a number of games.

A major reason for changing the rule was to save money.

Players not being allowed to play as freshman is as stupid as players not being able to declare for the NBA when they are adults.

Trust you to vote and die for the country but God forbid you want to play professional basketball at 18 years old. SMH

when FR were ineligible they only played for 3 years. there was no RS given, in this case the players will have 5 to play 4, as for them playing BB for a living, they can go overseas, nothing is stopping them from making a living,

the NCAA is trying to put the "STUDENT" back into the term STUDENT ATHLETE. there is even the D-league that they can play in. it would get rid of the farce going on at Kentucky, what's wrong with that, even Calipari is in favor of the change.

these are schools for getting a EDUCATION not a form of the NBA D-LEAGUE, baseball has their farm systems its called A-Ball, AA-Ball and AAA-Ball,
