Fran saw "really good defense" on last defensive possession

Thought Fran handled himself very well in the post-game press conference. Gave credit to Rutgers for their defensive play and didn’t go off on the officials for that last foul. I think he was pretty accurate with his description of the game. Neither team could get into any rhythm offensively. To Iowa’s credit, the defense really came to play.

Ref likely had money on the outcome. I mean give me a better explanation?

It’s difficult to get in a rhythm when you are getting held and hacked on practically every procession.
At one point last night, Iowa had been charged with NINE fouls, Rutgers and its "physical" defense, ONE.
I might contend that is indisputable evidence that something was wrong with the way the game was called. I also might contend that the call with 2 seconds left was indisputable bullshit. Keegan was playing textbook D, and Harper wouldn't even have gotten a shot off, so the ref blows the whistle and says, "Hey, Rutgers, how about some free throws to win the game?" What a freakin' travesty of athletic competition.

Hawks had a few opportunities to break the game open in the first few minutes of the second half. Up by 8, but missed 3s by JBo and some missed calls on some shots, like a roll to the basket by Rebraca where he got shoved in the back. JBo also was passing on shots down the stretch, and that made it hard for the other guys to have any space. Rutgers has really good help defense, especially if officials are swallowing their whistles.
