Trust me big old man titties.I didn’t know he was fat, but you’re right he’s pretty close. Thinking TK will be there tonight. Huge game for both schools.
Go Falcons!Tomorrow night Saturday the 17th Illinois vs Iowa shoot out at Carver Center, Augustana College. First game starts at 10 AM Saturday morning. Game five will be Davenport West Falcons vs East Moline Panthers. That game starts at 4:15pm and should be a track meet and a fun one to watch. Game six Rock Island Rocks vs Bettendorf Bulldogs at 6:00pm. Frans been keeping an eye on Bulldog jr Caden Wilkins 6-7 and would be an excellent walk on if nothing else like another player we got there🙂. Then the game we’ve been waiting for Pleasant Valley Spartans vs Moline Maroons at 7:45pm. $5 at the door, not bad price for 7 games.
Good to hear. My alma mater seems to have slipped off the radar when it comes to athletics. Back in the late 70's D West was the states largest high school and a power in football.....Falcons are damn good, they lost two close ones by 4 points to Iowa City West and 1 point to Pleasant Valley. If they had a legit center they would be trouble.
Just a heads up, for those that can't make it to the game between Moline and Pleasant Valley tonight, the game will be broadcast on Mediacom 22, tomorrow Sunday at 9pm.Tomorrow night Saturday the 17th Illinois vs Iowa shoot out at Carver Center, Augustana College. Pleasant Valley is always tough ... and they have always played some tremendous D.Moline won another game against a team that want's to grind their opponent down and beat a good Pleasant Valley team 54-43 to go to 8 and 1 on the year. PV led after 1 first quarter 16-14 and Moline led at the half 26-25 with Freeman and Harding contributing only 4 points between them. Moline limited PV to 18 points in the second half playing a strong defense.
For the first time this year neither Harding nor Freeman led Moline in scoring. Brock finished with 12 points, 3 assists and Freeman had 10 points, 12 boards, 6 blocks and numerous altered shots. Both suffered from tired legs from the hard fought game against Quincy last night.
Next game is Thurs. night at Normal West High School, 6:30pm
PV definitely frustrated Freeman with their defense on him. I didn't realize Freeman had the flu earlier in the week, probably also contributed to his sluggish play. I did also notice he seemed gassed and was subbed out regularly for as close of a game it was.
Note: there's a good chance that this game will be cancelled or postponed due to heavy snow and strong winds predicted on Thursday. We'll see....Thursday, Moline plays at Normal West which is in Normal, Illinois. A north suburb of Bloomington, Illinois. They're 6-3 and haven't lost at home yet.
Their tallest player is 6-4 and the next tallest player on the team is 6-2. It will be very interesting to see how they play defense against Freeman and Tray Tayler. Since the season opening loss to Milwaukee Lutheran, Moline hasn't won a game by less then 9 points and that was in the second game against Carmel, Indiana.
Talk about stocking stuffers, will there be a running clock in the fourth quarter?

Just looked on the QCSportsnet website and they are indeed broadcasting the game tonight beginning sometime between 6:30 and 6:45 tonight. Hope moving the game to tonight becomes another win.Just an FYI, I know it sucks losing to Eastern Illinois as it does any time Iowa loses a game that they have no business losing, but the Moline/Normal West game has been changed to tonight at 7 because of the weather. Won't know if the game is going to be on the internet until 6:45. If not, hopefully the stats will be in the Dispatch/Argus tomorrow morning.
These two kids, Freeman and Harding are going to be counted on to right the ship and get Iowa back to the NCAA tournament, they're that good.

Thanks IllQCawk for your contributions on these two future Hawks. Have a great holiday.....Game at Normal West ended on a 4th quarter running clock with Moline winning and this is not official 83-52. I say that as it was reported after the game as 78-52, but the statistics say otherwise. Following along with the broadcaster they had Freeman with 23, I had him with 22 and Brock Harding with 21, again I had him with 19 and both sat out the 4th quarter. Next game is at the Pekin Holiday Tournament, next Tuesday at 12:45pm against Peoria Limestone. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It appears that the final score was 78-52 according to Moline's varsity twitter account. Can't dispute that. On to next game.....
You too! The story of the senior season of Owen and Brock is only beginning....Thanks IllQCawk for your contributions on these two future Hawks. Have a great holiday.....
Absolutely! Its nice to get some news not only on future Hawks, but from back home in the QC. Both my parents have passed on for sometime, (thinking of them on the holiday of course). My Dad was my lifeline to all things Hawkeye and QC, especially before the internet explosion, and all the media now. Still don't get much on the sports scene in the QC though, so its been fun reading your reports and a few other folks who mention the eastern Iowa high school scene. Even the Illinois side. Back in my high school days the conference included Moline, E Moline, Rock Island, RI Alleman as well as the Davenport schools, so its neat to hear about the old venues, and teams. Thanks again......You too! The story of the senior season of Owen and Brock is only beginning....
To everyone on Hawkeye Report have a very Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the info. I really enjoy following their season.First game of the Pekin Holiday Tournament is completed and Moline easily finished off Peoria Limestone 69-32 with a running clock in the 4th quarter. Harding finished with 21 points and 6 assists and Freeman finished with 20 points and 5 blocks, both playing less then 3 quarters. Next game is tomorrow at 10:30am against Springfield Lanphier a 66-62 winner over Lake Zurich.
I feel it's worth doing these reports even if only 1 Hawk fan is interested and I'm pretty sure more then 1 Hawk fan enjoys checking up on these 2 future Hawks....Thanks for the info. I really enjoy following their season.

Last night Maxpreps.com hadn't updated Mt. Carmel's schedule, but you're right. Thanks for the update. Tonight's game should be a good one. There's 2 issues that Moline must clean up in the next 2 months. Free throw shooting is abysmal and the 3 point shooting is too hit and miss, whether they're taking bad shots or not getting their feet under them has to be worked on and improved before playoffs start otherwise it's taken Moline 58 years since they had a team capable of winning a state title and 72 years since they actually played in a state title game. Fun team to watch and listen to their games, especially if you graduated from Moline as I did.I’m seeing Chicago Mount Carmel at 14–3 and 3–0 in conference play. Tough team no doubt and I don’t think we will see a running clock tonight. Wish this game was streamed. Would love to see it but 1 hour and 45 minutes is a little too far right now. Besides Hawks on at 6:00pm at Nebraska.
