From an Omaha campaign worker

Honestly I could maybe be convinced to vote for Trump if he could stop these political text messages. I’ve probably gotten 30 today.
I can’t wait for all the political TV ads to cease.

In 2016 Trump outperformed the polls.

In 2020 the polls tried to adjust, and he outperformed the polls even further.

What would you explanation be for the polls to suddenly and significantly switch to undercounting Dem votes?
What happened in 2020? While Trump wasn’t running his candidates were.

Oh man, you did?

I was still a reporter during that election and I thought Kerry was a dud who was going to get his ass kicked.
You know, working on a national campaign for 11 months vibes. You weren't wrong though. Ironically, it's how I discovered this website way back in the day as locals frequented it (and I the Purdue site).

Too many fake polls?

People casually dismiss the data with that kind of flip remark, and it is really silly. The538 doesn’t even include Rasmussen because it’s results have been questionable. It’s not like these guys are just pulling numbers out of their butt, they analyze each poll that is included in their sample and weigh them based on prior level of accuracy. If I have to made predictions based on the studies of people who know 100x as much as I do, or the “vibes” of random social media posters, I am going with the experts every day.

And I’m surprised I have to defend that.

I am assuming you mean 2022. First, as you pointed out Trump was t on the ballot. He is a singular candidate, which is important.

Second, while the talking heads all spoke of a red wave, I am not aware of any actual polls that were off,.

Because you have been wrong leading up to the election?

What have I been wrong about? All I have done is pointed out objective facts and asked for any reason to base my opinion on something else.

Why does that surprise you? The “new” Dem party is the party of the elites/wealthy. Look at all the Hollywood type endorsements. Increased food/housing costs, crime, immigration, etc doesn’t impact that class of people.
Hollywood elites????

Offset that then with all the hedge fund guys and Wall St guys that are openly backing Turd.

Elon Musk ring a bell?

Try again.

I tell you what, check on the number of Democrat senators and Governors in the last 30 years and get back to me.
Yeah it sure was flipped! I have voted both ways and lived in that state for 25 years. I know the history the op was stating it was going to go blue 4-1 I simply stated not going to happen and you all come here and are proven wrong.
