I predict. Why? Whenever it comes time for Iowa to strut their stuff on national television, something stupid like that always happens. Or Iowa loses. I hate having the second slotted game on ESPN. Lets hope those two crappy teams don't drag it out for Iowa's sake.

If you have a tablet, smart phone, appletv ect... start the game on the ESPN app then you don't have to stress about it...

They've been bumping the 9pm game by 10-12 minutes or so to catch the start recently. I always get the xbox ready with the watchespn app (or laptop) just in case I need to make the switch and they don't put the game on espnnews. Just do that.

Regarding your first comment though, it does seem like these games always end in losses. We should just hope for a laugher in the first game so there's no fouling at the end.

This game has such huge implications beyond just B1G standings. National stage, prime time. At a traditional blue blood (despite how good or bad they are, this win carries weight due to the stage and Iowa's perception.)

This is a program changing game IMO.

Hopefully FSU runs them off the court. Help Iowa's RPI.

As long as the supporting beams, etc. remain intact in Assembly Hall, I think we're good to go. It wouldn't surprise me if some crazed Hoosier fan was caught loosening roof joist bolts the night prior, given our history. Hopefully, things remain intact.

No tablet but I do have the ESPN app on my phone. Not the same thing tho. Yes, they usually kick the game over to News or U but if you have neither....GRRRRRRR!!

Could we please stop using the "beam" word for what fell? It was non-structural flashing.

Now, it would have killed someone, yes, so it was serious. But not structurally.

What really ticks me off about this is I don't see how four teams can play two games on one court at the same time!!!! I realize it's all about the television money these days but for goodness sake can't we at least have two courts? This has to be dangerous for the players. And how can the refs keep their eyes on the right teams?

Oh well, knowing how conferences work, Iowa and Indiana will probably end up in a ten man game against FSU and Syracuse. Should be entertaining but who gets the win?

Don't they usually start the game on another channel like ESPNews or ESPNU?
Yes they do. Early games on ESPN not yet completed by the time the second game starts run a message across the bottom of the screen if the start of the second game is being aired on another ESPN channel, usually ESPNews.

Prefer Dolph and Bobby over ESPN phx app.
You prefer Dolph? Maybe you do, but unless you're watching the game and listening to them... you're going to have a hard time following.

Dolph will go thru long stretches where you won't know the score and he'll ramble for several minutes. Similar to the football broadcasts when you have absolutely no idea of down and distance.

I'm in an area where I can listen to Leerfield games for Minnesota and Nebraska and their guys are light years better than Dolph.

Maybe It's just me.

When we are traveling and listen to Dolph in the car, I have to act as a translator for my wife for her to have any clue what is going on in the game. Dolph is fine for me. I can keep track of what is going on and roughly what the score is, but for someone who can't focus on something that hard or for extended periods of time, Dolph isn't very good.

Also, if you're out and about and DVR'ed the game, you're screwed. Why not kick the game that no one cares about or has zero national title implications (any game that's not an Iowa game) to the obscure Siberian channels???? Both schools don't give a rat's ass about hoops anyway. Isn't Syracuse still on double secret probation for Boeheim's shenanigans???

I assume you're insulting me, so congratulations. I still say Dolph isn't a very good guy for his job! But he's a typical ass-kisser and I'm sure the Iowa Athletic Dept. approves all Leerfield guys, so Dolph smooches who he needs to.

Not trying to insult you at all. I was trying to say you really need to focus on everything he is saying so you don't miss a score update because they are few and far between. If you miss something or fall behind it will be a while before you will be able to get caught back up. You should be able to casually listen to a broadcast and be able to follow the flow of a game.

I strongly disagree with this. I think this game is important, but far from program changing. For one thing, we are still favorites to outright win the conference even with a loss given Maryland's remaining schedule compared to ours, so how important can Thursday be. Also, its a regular season game vs an unranked team. If we win, there will be some folks who realize that the B1G race is basically over, but most people will take longer to realize it.

Game is to be replayed on ESPNU at 3AM CT, Friday morning....any amount of game not shown at the start of the live telecast will be aired at that time.....

Also it should be mentioned that BTN will air a condensed version of the game called "BTN Basketball in 60" at 1 PM, 3:30 PM, and 11 PM on Friday and 3:30 AM Saturday morning.....plenty of times to catch any game action that was missed because of the early game.

FSU down 20 with just a few mins to go....unlikely our game doesn't get full coverage.

On a side note, that win over FSU isn't looking so impressive these days...about to drop to 16-8, 6-6

I don’t like the condensed version of basketball games. You miss too many replays.
