Gabble Steveson to Iowa?

All those guys other than Kem, Teemer, and Brands would have only had 5 years if not for Covid. Everyone got that year extra (other than the seniors that year that should have) so that is not relevant. It was just a matter of whether they chose to use it or not, not like they were getting something everyone else wasn't getting. The only guys that are outliers are the 7th year guys that got medical redshirts or ORS. If not for Covid they would only have been 6th year guys as well. Your list only has 3 on it as far as I'm concerned. That being said, I have no issue with guys coming back other than Daton Fix was bs imo. He got caught cheating and got to use his ORS and Covid years to avoid actually missing any NCAA's. Nobody should get 5 NCAA's with a 1 year suspension thrown in there as well, but what do I know. I will be really glad when all the covid stuff is gone as far as eligibility is concerned for guys, that is for sure.
Isn't Eierman the only Iowa guy to get the 5 years of the NCAA Tourney option? Even then he doesn't really fit because only 2 of those were for Iowa...

How many teams have 5 year guys? How many teams have more than 1? PSU has Carter and Kerk, correct? Any others?

I thought for sure Nelson with his 7 years would be one but one year was a Med shirt and the other was gambling. Why can't he get his covid year next year?

2019 freshman
2020 sophomore
2021 free year
2022 junior
2023 redshirt
2024 olympic redshirt
2025 found his shoes in a tree
Equates to my high school career:

1995 freshman
1996 soph
1997 soph, again
1998 took year off to earn $ for pregnant girlfriend's baby
1999 same as above (for 2nd pregnant girl)
2000 junior
2001 dropped out & enlisted
2002 senior after getting booted from Army

Interesting use of the word career.

But how did 2002 go?

Can you list "all of the 6-7th year guys" Iowa has had? You make it sound like it is a pretty common practice. And yes I understand the Covid year is an exception and will add a few to the list.
Kem dawg
Eierman
Nelson brands
Buchanan
Parco
Teemer
Franek

An entire list of 7 - wow! And every single one of them consecutive (except for Brands' suspension) and because of the COVID year. Other top schools will be there too.

The best part of that list is that Eierman, Buchanan, Parco, Teemer and Franek were ALL transfers. So, out of those 7 they will get 4, 2, 4(3), 1, 1, 1 and 1 NCAA Tournaments. That is 14(13) total. As a comparison, Starocci and Kervliet will get 10. Are you really sure you want to use this argument as some sort of "gotcha"?

Edited to add: I actually gave too many NCAA's to Nelson Brands. For his having "so many years" he will actually only get to 3 NCAA Tournaments if he makes it through this season...

There’s more I get tired of naming guys

Marinelli, Warner, Spencer, Murin, Young, Woods.
