Gable Steveson: Stirring The Pot?

He did a lot of retweeting today. Showing love to Iowa, PSU, and Minnesota. He's just teasing the fans I think. Whoever lands him will win the class of 2018 sweepstakes. Hopefully he joins Gavin Teasdale & becomes a Hawkeye!

I think Gable will be very similar to Fix in his recruiting process. Minny will be the favorite, but he will take his visits with an open mind. I think the 5 will be Minny, PSU, Iowa, ISU, ASU. I would have put tOSU in there, but it seems like they have Singletary slotted in at 285 for the future. Could see OSU in there and one of the above out at some point. Any other schools people think/know he is considering?

I have never read anything to suggest that Iowa is in his top 20, much less top 3, so I'm hoping he goes to Minnesota, where his 20 team points will do less damage than at a top-5 school.

Believe me, I'm more than happy to be wrong on this.
I'm just trying to be optimistic, Tarp! That's a good point, though. Much rather have him at Minny than PSU.

I think Minnesota is far removed from the possibilities right now. For the Goofs to b a player they better show progression this year, or make a splash with post season "wow" hire.

If someone could teach me how to post a Trump "wrong" meme here, it would be really fitting.

EdQuinn is on the money IMO. I don't see Iowa seriously entering the picture though. OKST, ISU, PSU and ASU are the schools I lose sleep over.

Gable has sense removed his retweets of the above mentioned. Like I said Gable's recruiting process is going to take years off my life haha.

If he is shooting for 285, I doubt that he goes to PSU. Most likely, Neville's little brother who won the California heavyweight title as a freshman looks to be headed to PSU.
Because it would be unlike Cael to recruit over the #2 hwt in the country to bring in the #1 hwt.

I think it is interesting that Penn State has 3 verbals for that class and Nevills isn't one of them. You would think he would of been one of the first. Believe Steveson is very much in play for PSU, especially after getting Bravo-Young (and Hall).

Does he fit the mold?

With the addition of Lee, Teasdale, and Warner( all friends of Gable) and a couple of buddies already on the team will at least earn Iowa an official visit. Still think Minny is ahead with PSU nipping at there heals.

Also twitter is a good place for information but it often is bad/false info it seems. Looking at you ENO... be weary my friend's

With OkState's current 285 situation, I would think they would be throwing the full court press at Gable. Whomever ends up winning the GS Sweepstakes will be VERY HAPPY!
OSU all over Gable, sitting back and waiting. After waiting for Fix, it sure is a lot easier now! Gable reminds me of Mocco (when he was at OSU).

I'm still enjoying getting Lee, Teasedale, and Warner ...
What are the Iowa fan expectations for these three guys? If I were to say that these three would amass a combined four NCAA titles, would you guys be disappointed or happy? If not four, what number do you expect when all is said and done?

12. Was this a serious question?
It is, but 12 is okay if that is your belief. I try not to pencil in much more than 1 title per phenom because 'stuff' happens in college like girls, injuries, desire, another phenom, etc. look at the Altons, Hunter Steiber, lots of others.

And I try not to take things too seriously. : )

iowa has never had a 4 timer, I want one. do I expect one no I do not, but expect these three to be right competing for a title each and every year. if they are out there and getting after it and never win a title will be disappointed for them not disappointed in them.

I think 7 is my expectation. More than that is gravy, less would be slightly disappointing.

I would say 3 for Lee, 2 for Warner and 1 for Teasdale. Over/Under for AA finishes at 10. I see Teasdale progressing on a similar trajectory to Ramos(R12,3rd,2nd,1st). Warner looks really good, but I am taking a bit of a reserved stance(2 Championships is still really good) since 197 is notorious for highly rated recruiting flops. Finally, I see Lee contending for 4 Championships, but guys like Suriano and Fix will be there(along with who knows who else) and I think somebody keeps him from 4!

6 Championships and 10 AA finishes should but them in Team Title contention for 4 years and win it a time or 2!

Would take major rules changes for the 3 of them pull off 14 AA between them.

I like Warner to win 2-3 because of the historical lack of competition at 197. Meaning there is only usually 2-3 top guys. He is already kind of dominate and he not muscular yet. He is going to be a big 197 once he seriously hits the weight room...with a great gas tank as well. 4 AAs

Lee...Anywhere from 2-4. 4 AAs

Teasdale: He is going to have to make the biggest adjustments. Has a great low single but is going to have to finish tougher and up his inside ties/handfighting. If he totally buys in, will be hard to stop. Great thing is having Lee,Gilman, Clark etc as partners...assuming the light guys stay with the HWC. 1-2 titles. 4AAs

Like someone said, just looking for 100% and a good learning curve when they get here.
