Not too surprising really.... The day we got a verbal from Costello was the day when a lot of people thought the Gable Steveson ship had sailed. It would have been a Huge surprise if he came to Iowa and we ended up with 3 true heavyweights on the roster at the same time.
Yes! I'm very happy he didn't go to either of those schools. Especially Penn State.
I doubt Aaron Costello has any effect on Gable Steveson's thinking.
Yeah, I couldn't get it to load. Or is it not on their website. I had it up and said it hadnt started yet, now I can't even find it on their site. I tell you even when I want to give them a chance I can't. So along with correcting the streaming issues, maybe have someone update the site. It is horrible to find anything there. Heck even flipping over the pound for pound, you need to move the scroll bar sometimes to get it to show all the weight options.

I'd be more then pleased if Iowa can secure a commitment from Cohlton Schultz from Colorado for our future HWT.

I think what he meant was Iowa was looking for other options once they found out Steveson was not an option.
I never said that Costello signing had any impact on Steveson's thinking. I even went back and re-read my post to be sure and it is clear I did not say that.... Don't put words in my mouth for me please......
What I said was that the day Costello signed it made a lot of people (I meant Iowa Fans) wonder if the ship had sailed? That's it, that's all i said.... No crime in wondering something.....
I guess we'll just need to get someone to beat him, as the real Gable would have said back in the day....But seriously: is HWT the wt class at which we've been longest w/o a NCAA champ? (I'm counting 118 and 125 as the same weight, 190 and 197, etc)
Maybe he didn't buy into all the fun they have at PSU. 95% of wrestling is not fun, it's hard work, lots of sweat, some blood and some tears.
From the looks of the results, I think PSU and their fun seem to be doing just fine. Hopefully we will be having more fun in the next few years with the guys we have coming in.
Never happening! PSU has a Philly lawyer (ex wrestler) on the rolodex who has an extra buck or two. Or three.
