I played D&D 30+ years ago...still have my books.

Now this is a big thing because its a show with a little soft porn thrown in?

It's D&D if you delete 90% of the D&D. It's more of a political fudal drama with a light fantasy element for flavor. You could easily write out all the fantasy parts and tell essentially every storyline with the possible exception of Bran Stark's IMO. Even the dragons aren't essential to anything that has happened so far. The porn however is essential, must keep that.

I just read the book about the dig for Richard III. Pretty interesting stuff. The guy got killed in a pretty brutal way.

Richard III certainly has received the worst press of any English monarch post Norman Conquest. Of course the fact that most of the History of Richard's reign was written during the reign of the Tudor Kings and Queens certainly influenced the negative slant. Might be the most hated monarch in the country's history which is saying something considering that John and Edward I were also Kings of England. However, for all the bad press, he certainly couldn't call him a coward and he certainly died with his boots on.
