Stanford storms past Washington State in 4th quarter, forcing a failed Wazzu FG attempt to remain undefeated in Pac-12 play.

Iowa survives Big 10 foe Maryland. The 2-6 Terrapins put in a gutsy performance, but turnovers denied them their first Big 10 victory of the season.

Not to be a jerk but....w-h-o--c-a-r-e-s

Let's not get too upset about a lack of respect(perceived or real). The Hawks have usually risen above unrealistically low expectations and done well in the underdog role...embrace it and enjoy the about face that will happen on a few weeks when the Hawks are in the Ccg

Oklahoma State rallies on the road, shreds Texas Tech to stay perfect
OKST won by 17 points

#10 Iowa stays perfect with less than perfect victory over Maryland

This is a joke though right? The headlines didn't actually say that did they? OSU had a pick 6 with no time left..Please tell me this is a joke

The talking heads on ESPN look like they are going to explode waiting for Iowa to lose a game. They still keep hammering away about the schedule but seldom mention that Iowa is one of only two teams in the nation to have two road wins over ranked teams.

Its like deja vu all over again...

The storyline of the Okie State-Texas tech game should be, Okie State's pathetic defense gives up 53 points (in regulation-no OT) but Texas Tech's God awful D took an extended nap and gave up 73 points to ensure the loss.
How can a team that gives up 53 points be held in a higher regard than Iowa? I do not know.... But, I don't care either. I kind of like being 8-0 with a bunch of doubters that keep getting proven wrong.

IMO the Hawks could win each of the next 3 games 55-0 and it wouldn't matter, The haters still gonna hate, and Iowa will still get dissed on the schedule.

I retyped verbatim from the ESPN.com site - those headlines were both on thumbnails - I added the point differential
HA that's unreal!! That being said when Iowa beat NW by 30 they didn't have much to say and Stanford beat UCLA by 21 that week but because they scored 56 ESPN was all over their jock

I love football but until the politics go away it's always going to favor certain a teams and conferences.

That's why the march madness rules.

No BS just win and STFU.

Not entirely true. IMO there is a lot of politics involved in selecting the last 8-10 teams to be invited to play in the NCAA tournament.

I'm actually fine with this, Iowa tends to play better when they're the underdog. 2010 confirmed that for me.

Except none of the teams praying to get in have a snowball's chance of winning. The politics involved in picking the 64th basketball team isn't as important as the politics in picking the 3rd and 4th football teams.

Interestingly enough, Wisconsin, NW, and Pitt are ranked 26, 27, and 28 in the latest AP poll. So even if they are no longer ranked, all three are right there.
