I read it as he’s specifically addressing that point to “people like Chuck Schumer.”

It does have a bit of an Animal House “I, [state your name]” feel to it.

At the very least, it makes sense to me to get a handful of countries (perhaps both western and mid eastern) together and put together a "one-time, voluntary resettlement" program in place with a variety of optional landing sites to it. While the idea of "home" might be too much to overcome for many, it would be an interesting way of gauging just how much of the population really does just want an opportunity to live their lives somewhere in relative peace.

This is a reasonable and potentially achievable plan, although it would still face long odds and much opposition.

The crap Trump and Rubio are throwing out there is nothing more than ill-informed magical thinking.
