If you know anything about fball u will understand that we took a 1st yr QB and Frosh Off tackles on the road to play the best team in the BIG & a rivalry road game.

If you're suprised about the outcome and think some Madden gameplan you found online would have done better...well, u should just no longer root for Iowa, go be a Bama, ISU, or Coe fan plz.

BF didn't drop balls all day, miss wide open Fant 87 on a seam route in 1st half, block terrible in 1st half, etc etc. I saw the same plays that worked in situations last week fail only due to player error.

I saw Fant open on a key play crossing route get picked due to a frosh error. I saw a SR WR PR blow 30 yards on poor PR decisions in the first half, I saw Fant miss a catchable fade route that could have also had some more air under it for another 7 if so...on and on and on.

But Im sure you Madden experts think a different play call or gameplan also results in balls being caught, players blocking better ,and a young QB seeing the open 7pts in the seam....
Step back from the ledge, if we get behind this team and they win next week, and in Lincoln, it will have been a pretty good year considering the above, and next yr is much more promising in my mind with whats coming back.

Otherwise, just jump ship and go root for what u thinknis hot, buts not, then you wont need as much time in your safe spaces.

Um ... Iowa's offense got shut out and couldn't even break 70 yards on offense. If Brian Ferentz and the rest of the offense don't deserve criticism today then ... ??? Come on, how can you defend the way they played today? We all gave props to the offense and BF last week. Why wouldn't it be appropriate to say they crapped their pants today???

Apparently criticism isn't welcomed here. I didn't know you could complain about the Hawks only if you aren't a fan. NEWS FLASH - fans pay the bills and want bang for their buck. If certain coaches aren't producing, they need to be replaced. Iowa ranks very poorly overall in offense nationwide. That is a fact.

I would have to say Coe probably had as much offense output as Iowa did today. Of course Wisconsin would have scored 80+, just saying.

maybe its because Wisconsin defense is 5th in total defense as they had only given up a avg of 268 ypg and a avg of 87.8 ypg rushing, did it ever occur to you and the other bellyaching that their defense just might be that good? or are you gonna go cry in the car and stomp your feet in denial that any team can actually be better than Iowa?

Couldn’t even break 67 yards of offense!

Soooo. We had 200 fewer yards than they usually give up against their weak schedule?....

Boy I feel much better now. :)

Not disagreeing with you necessarily yet it’s very hard to tell how great Wisconsin’s defense is in consideration of their schedule thus far. I’ll be interested to see how they fare in Big 10 Championship game.

68 yards of offense. What other "clue" is there?

Iowa was the only team this year that wasn't able to score offensive points against UW and gain at least a 100 yards on offense. Florida Atlantic and Utah State played better on offense against Wisconsin than Iowa did today.

There were plenty of key, good plays called where execution failed. If not so, u would be singing the praises of the staff for the same call.

The staff cant catch the ball for them, block for them, and see open receivers for them..

On top of that, we have a 1st yr QB playing w 2 frosh tackles, and a young group of receivers. If it werent for the last sentence, i would be more upset, but it didnt have to do with play calling.

I saw a fade route drop that coulda had more air under it also for an easy 7. I saw a wide open blown coverage seam route by Fant 87 not seen in 1st half by young QB for an easy 7...ball droos galore, a SR WR PR blow 30 yardsof crucial field position on bad PR decisions...etc etc...has nothing to do w what play was called...flat out lack of execution.

Did he punch a wall, yell at a ref? Time for a diaper change for son Brian?

68 total yards of offense. When was the last time that happened to an IOWA team,?
as I posted else where Wisconsin came in 5th in total defense. but like usual nobody has any right to be any good at anything, grow up and give them their due for having a very good defense.
plus blame the players for dropping passes and letting the damn ball hit the ground and roll dead after rolling 15 - 20 yards,

Actually, I agree with you. It was more the execution than the play calling. Except I don't think Iowa ran two running plays in a row until the 4th quarter. They'd gain 4 on first down, throw an incompletion, and then a sack. Typically. At this point in the season and after seeing them perform last week, how come they fell apart completely? It was so bad that it was hard to tell if the play calling was either good or bad. I couldn't tell because every play failed (nearly).

I don't give a shit if they are the '85 Bears defense! 65 freaking yards is cause for immediate termination.

I think my post went over your head. Only one coach is the OC and his responsibility laid an EGG today and all season long has been dismal. Iowa ranks very poorly offensively nationwide.

OK. Still a horseshit game. Not blaming BF, but am blaming OL, WR'S, DL and yes, QB. No way to spin this disaster as a positive. OL was beyond bad again. DL was AWOL. Wisconsin wins games in the trenches and they kicked our asses. No other way to spin it, but I'm sure some will try.

Again, i think it had to do with a 1st yr QB really struggling mentally, which stemmed from his youth, being from WI, early drops, all snowballing to pathetic executiom all around...doesnt matter what u call if players dont make plays.

So you're saying that our coaching staff is awesome at play calling....they just can't recruit talent worth a sh*t or get their players prepared to play games on a half-way consistent basis.

Got it.

Really, dude. Maybe BF and Co. get more criticism than deserved sometimes, but this game was a total fail, coaches included.

Whether or not this offensive display was Brian Ferentz' fault makes little difference. But you can watch a hell of a lot of college football and not see a more anemic display of offensive futility... by any team at any level with any coach using any recruits. Today's performance set a standard that I can only hope Iowa never repeats. There were no offensive highlights. And, as bad as the offense can be (and this was only the most remarkable of many this year), the kick and punt return game may be on another level. Teams don't start every series inside their own ten because they are unlucky.
