Well, yeah. But not all the critical posts are about getting Ferentz fired. That's pointless. He's got a contract through 2025 so I don't know why people don't just accept that there's nothing they can do about that (other than fork over enough money to buy him out, but that assumes Barca would even want to do that--which he doesn't). But the posters think they're going to change anything about who is coaching are pretty much delusional and, honestly, desperate for a different brand of football. But blaming other posters who support Ferentz is pointless. Asking them why they support Ferentz is interesting to me, though.
There were some quotes from the players that also got people's hopes up after the Ohio State game, Stanley saying they could play like that against anyone. That came back to bite him pretty hard. Turns out he was naive and arrogant with that statement. I'm sure he's been humbled by just how wrong he was. Ohio State didn't come to play and their coaches were miserable that game. I would not have wanted to see Iowa play them if OSU played the way they did against Michigan State, that's for sure. And I'm really glad they got spanked by UW--today, not on Saturday (I was like everyone else Saturday, I expected a good game).
But I'm glad now because if they had played well expectations would still be high and the Hawks might have gotten invited to a bowl above their pay grade and got waxed in yet another bowl game. Even now, if they win their next two games, they might go to a bowl that leads to another blowout loss. Some people want the Music City Bowl, but I'm hoping for the Pinstripe or the Detroit bowl. Less likely to face another SEC team. Someone like Boston College would be best. They could still lose, but doubtful that they would get blown out of the water against a team like that.
