Dude has the drive to winGonna go out on a limb here and say that's probably not anyone that should be coaching youth sports.
But he's gotta turn that drive in a different direction if he wants to win.Dude has the drive to win
NoThe parent was trying to block the road and I'm guessing the coach felt threatened based in the previous argument. Depending on how scared the coach was, I could see where he might want to get the hell out of there. We know how parents can be and any parent blocking the road is a parent that's looking for trouble.
That doesn't mean you plow them over with your car. Did you watch the video? The guy was standing still and the car clearly accelerated planning to hit him.The parent was trying to block the road and I'm guessing the coach felt threatened based in the previous argument. but were his feet set? That doesn't mean you plow them over with your car. Did you watch the video? The guy was standing still and the car clearly accelerated planning to hit him.
Having an argument with someone and then have them standing 30 feet in front of you in a parking lot is not reason to gun your vehicle and run them over. You sure? If someone has argued with you and then tries to keep you from leaving, you wouldn't feel threatened in any way? You'd stop and allow the person to attack you?

"Get out alive"??!?!!? Holy shit man hahahahahahhaYou do if you feel threatened and you want to get out alive. We've all read and heard about how bad parents can be. The parent was looking for trouble by trying to block the coach. Looks like the parent learned a lesson that may save their life down the road.
He looked set but moved his feet right before the vehicle got there. Gonna have to say blocking charge.Block or charge?
and they wonder why the participation numbers are decliningBench clearing brawls?
Coaches pimp slapping parents with their cars?
I need to start going to some girls basketball games ASAP!
"Get out alive"??!?!!? Holy shit man hahahahahahha
We'll see if the "I felt threatened while the man was standing in the parking lot way in front of me" defense will hold up for him.
It just means more?Gonna go out on a limb here and say that's probably not anyone that should be coaching youth sports.

I think they already did that with home improvement….They should make a sitcom about youth sports and all of the freak adults involved in it.
I see your point here. The parent is a maniac too. What he did was wrong as well. Seems like that should at least mitigate the driver's culpability. You do if you feel threatened and you want to get out alive. We've all read and heard about how bad parents can be. Hmm guess I need to freshen up on my home improvement. I don’t remember the kids actually playing sports and parents being involved. I know Tim was a lions and redwings fan.I think they already did that with home improvement….
What is he going to do? Kick the side of the car? OMGosh scary. If he does that, then you speed off and call the police. So you've never heard of parents going overboard and attacking refs and coaches? Anyone who is willing to stand in the road and block the coach is not thinking clearly. Do you really think the parent wanted to go have a drink with the coach? You have to be really pissed to try and block the coach from leaving. I would say the coach was in danger if he stopped and let the parent get to him.
In any situation, if you've had an argument with someone and then they try to keep you from leaving, doesn't it make sense you're going to feel threatened?
I get what you are saying. But the person inside the massive vehicle with locking doors could put it in reverse and drive away at any time. No excuse for making physical contact with a pedestrian. So you've never heard of parents going overboard and attacking refs and coaches? This is what you get when illegals start taking coaching jobs

I will say, if there were threats made by the guy that would give the coach the impression that he had a gun on him, then I wouldn't have an issue with this. But if it was solely a verbal argument, and there was no threat or implication of a firearm involved, then this is just totally overboard.
This is legit a great idea. Could wrap it into a Parks and Rec reboot set in same location focused on the group in charge of the fictional Indiana towns sports leagues and facilities with occasional cameos from old cast…They should make a sitcom about youth sports and all of the freak adults involved in it.

Moral - come over to Chez Torbee and we can start workshopping and whiteboarding the script. This is legit a great idea. After covering local politics for a decade or so, I can tell you with absolute authority that if you thought the citizen commentary and behavior in Parks and Rec was wild, it is even MORE insane in real life. No lie.Why make a sitcom when you can just go to almost any game in any city and witness the events live and be part of the live audience.
Someone being mad or a possible "nutjob" is still not a reason to plow them over with your vehicle when there has been zero physical violence throughout the situation. I'm not going to just assume the parent told the coach he had a gun. That's a dumb assumption to make. At this point, given the info we have, the coach overreacted by plowing over the man. That's just it, you and I don't know what all that was said and what type of people these parents are. All I know is that anyone who is blocking the road is someone that is truly pissed and wanting a confrontation. I would call that person a nutjob and nutjobs can be very unpredictable.
I’m in agreement with you. Not saying you doze the guy, but you never know what he has on his person. That's just it, you and I don't know what all that was said and what type of people these parents are. I’d slow down and then when he comes to my window to kick my ass I speed up and drive away…You sure? If someone has argued with you and then tries to keep you from leaving, you wouldn't feel threatened in any way? You'd stop and allow the person to attack you?
