I was pleased with the majority of the matches. I would have liked Sorenson to score a bit more. Obviously disappointed that Brody lost but I'm honestly not too worried yet, he will only get better. Cooper, not sure what to say other than UGHHH!

If there was a wrestler of the night award it would be tough but I'd give it to Stoll. Redshirt freshman, ranked opponent who's beat him in the past, against your home state.

What? You crazy. I'm a huge Stoll fan and I think he looked very good. He moves damn good for a big guy, love the go behinds. And that "middle school tactic" scores a lot of points on ALL levels of wrestling. I would call it a FUNDAMENTAL.
It is a fundamental, but one you'll end up on the wrong side of more often than not on the DI level, IMO. The good news is Stoll got his hand raised against a quality opponent. He's still young and has a ways to go from his feet offensively, which is true of most freshman HWT.'s, so I suspect his offense will improve as his career goes along, but he's doing just fine at the moment overall.

Big Sam does seem to move pretty well for a big fella. But for me those takedowns were a combination of poor technique by Kroells and good reaction by Big Sam, so waiting for your opponent to take a bad shot isn't a strategy I'd employ very often. You'll win a lot more and by larger margins by creating your own opportunities and finishing them. See Burak, Nathan as the poster child for this.
