Gotta feel bad for Iowa State today & for their future

Wait. Doesn't a wn like this help Iowa's very slim chance at making the dance? Yes, I feel dirty saying it, but I was pulling for the clones. Nice win.

Omg it was one idiot poster I said congrats. Do you want us judging you for coming on our site? I've never been to clown site please leave and good job on win.

Clown fans only show up to tell us how good they are.

I have no desire to go to their site; I know they hate being little brother, but do they really need to come to our site and post?

I have no desire to go to their board either, but it's a little hard to keep them away when you invite them in....

Especially with stupid topics, which turn out to be inaccurate.

No classIc is an isu player saying how much better they are after losing by 14 to big brother Iowa.

It says everything there is to know about the isu culture.

And when u look at their future, they started 5 seniors today (Holden, Long, Morris, Thomas, Burton). And they are still stuck with their head coach.

Today, KU clearly choked when you look at:
* ISU Is average at best
* KU was at home
* KU had a 14 point half time lead
* KU had 21 turnovers to just 11 for ISU
* KU outrebounded ISU 45-25

Do they even have a future with all the pieces they lose after this season?

Meanwhile, after today's loss at Kansas, they will be a horrible 13-9, 5-5.

But hey, Monte Morris says they are better than all the teams they lost to, so there is that when it comes to Big Dance considerations.

o_O
I feel bad for you because you show an unhealthy fixation for ISU!!! Do you have a secret man crush on Monte Morris?

Dude just stop. We won. Yay. They're going to the tournament and we're not most likely.

Theyre going this year, but it could be the last time in a while.

I know clones will tell us how great their incoming players are but im not buying it.

Ive seen what they have besides Freds players and it looks like a mid major.

Feel sorry for them!?!? If allowed, I'd pack Lil' Brother in a shipping box and send 'em to Sumatra with the words, "Eat me." on the outside of the box.

Ten years! I want ten years of Iowa State sucking at everything before I'll even consider feeling tepid toward their fortunes.

Despite our many differences, we agree on this. My hope is that they turn into this decade's DePaul.

Iowa State has their best recruiting class ever coming in including a top 35 player in the country to take over for Morris at PG. Anything else you'd like to comment on?

Not so much a Clown win as a Kansas loss. KU played horribly down the stretch. TOs and missed FT. For about a three minute segment at the end I wasn't sure if either team was going to score another point.

You're right it is the same story every single year. Six NCAA tournaments in a row. Same story every year from Hawk fans. "This is the last year they'll be really good."
But theyre not really good. They are as inconsistent as an Iowa team full of freshman. It took a school record in 3 pointers in a game to win. They are the definition of average.

If you say so partner. I'll take six consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament. It's not how you start its how you finish. If Iowa State goes on a little run here they could put themselves in position for a pretty nice seed come March. Law of averages they lost some heartbreakers to Gonzaga, Cincy, Baylor, KU. Ball was going to start bouncing their way.

Iowa entered the tournament last year as what? A 7 seed? I'd say you guys thought you were pretty good last year...Iowa State today after the KU win probably projects right around a 7 seed.

No, last years Iowa team ended up very average. I give credit to them for today's win, but it was just 1 win. Now if they can manage to not lay any turds the next few games they might be on to something. But to me all today was is great 3 point shooting. And they've proven all year to be streaky at that.

ISU had to play nearly flawless ball today because they don't have a rebounder. Probably miss McKay more than Niang because of the rebounding deficit. They are winning games with low turnovers. If you watched the game they said MM might be the best play maker in the country. In some recent losses the ball was not in his hands at the end of some close games.

Every team has some moments in a game they would like to take back but Kansas was near perfect in shooting and was getting all the rebounds. You should give ISU credit for being the better team and not folding down the stretch. They seem to do better when playing from behind, lost the W. Virginia game at home when they started out with a big lead. I think it is the first win for W. Virginia at Hilton and the first for Kansas in awhile as well.

Matt Thomas had made 16 of 22 three pointers in the past three games. So surprising ISU could win today without any points from him but he has been battling with bone spurs for some time and hasn't even practicing. Maybe that is why he was shooting so well in the prior three games. Today ISU won in spite of Thomas being 0-5 in threes. This is just the 10th home game that Kansas has lost under Bill Self in the last 14 seasons and ISU is the only team that has beat a Self team at Kansas. I saw an Iowa win down there once but not sure if it has been in the Self era or before.

It will be interesting to see how Iowa does tomorrow with Jok back. Good luck.

The class isn't that good, and until they show up, it's meaningless. Tim Floyd had a class that was rated #1 nationally by some gurus. Several of them never showed up eligible.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen Lone Clone actually trying to calm down the ISU nut jobs. Kudos.

Bill Self is a terrific talent collector & keep 'em out of jail administrator ... didn't watch the Kansas/ISU game ...no interest. For those ISU fans who post here...normally after a big win...congrats. You sure are needy but now you can return to your home.

Kansas is better than ISU, no one would dispute that. I love Monte. I don't think he should have said what he did, but I like having guys with that mentality. Confidence is huge.

He's won 2 B12 Tourney championships, now has a win at the Phog, pretty much dominated Iowa in his four years (3-1). Kid is nails. Probably going to make the NCAA Tournament 4 times, has two sweet 16's...... Again, I don't think he should've said it, but it's good that he thinks it.

I would disagree with dominated Iowa. One game was a blowout win (at Carver 2014). Otherwise, every game he played against Iowa, Iowa was up double digits the majority of the time (two choke jobs at Hilton). Hardly dominant.

Iowa State has their best recruiting class ever this year? Lol. Okay.

People can say what they want about Iowa State's future in basketball, every one is just guessing, but trying to offset a stupid comment by making one even more stupid translates to an epic fail.

For the record, I think it's great Iowa State beat Kansas at Kansas. People can say what they want, but that's a huge victory.

I am not an ISU fan in anyway shape or form but they won that game with a great effort and performance. There was no choke by KU. They stopped KU on the last shot to win it in regulation even.

The OP as big of a fellow Hawk fan as me is being absolutely ridiculous. My message to him as any other Hawk fan on this board is just stop posting about ISU. If I want to hear about them I will find their message board otherwise I do not care at all if they win a national title or not. I care about Iowa only so let's quit with this non-sense. We play a meaningless game once a year - big whoop.

Haha last year's Iowa team was very likely the second best since the turn of the century. The Horner/Haluska/Brun. Team that lost as a 3 seed likely the best. If they weren't a good team you're saying Iowa has only had one good team in nearly 20 years? That sir is a tough TOUGH run of 20 years then. No, no Iowa was a really great team last year that lacked a closer.

Look up the facts. Since the recruiting ranking era this is widely considered the best class ever for Iowa State. It's not an exaggeration or a stupid comment, it is a fact. That is aided immensely by Lindell Wigginton being a near five star. Terrence Lewis is a four star. Cameron Lard is a four star forward who is currently red shirting.

If the Hawks had a near five star and two four stars rolling in next year you'd think they were competing for a national title. And yet according to you "we have no future." Ha Riiiight.

You can have all the 4 and 5 star kids in the world, but you are still Iowa State. Nothing can fix that.

Does probably help a bit. I am from Iowa and always pull for Iowa St unless they are playing Iowa or Northern Iowa. Great win at Lawrence and it sure would be nice to be back in the days when Iowa, Iowa St and often N Iowa all were in the tourney.

But, I will admit that many of the Cyclone fans that venture over to this board, makes it difficult to not hate the Cyclones.

If Iowa State is going to do anything in basketball in the next several years, this is the year they'll need to do it. Losing 5 starters, average recruiting classes coming up, and average coach. Future is not bright there.

Yesterday they got lucky... can't hit 3's like that every game. But still, they beat KU in Kansas. Tough to do.
