Gov. Kim Reynolds: Iowa ready to use National Guard, law enforcement for mass deportations

How did Melania Trump get in with a “Einstein “ visa which required a “exceptional talent”? I wonder what the talent is ?

My oldest is college-bound next year and was seriously considering ROTC/NG, being willing to serve to defend our country and/or aid in natural disasters or emergencies. He says he will flat out not enlist if members of the military are going to be used to round up people from their homes and communities. So instead of getting an Eagle Scout, 4A state track athlete in the top 2% of his class with a 34 ACT, the military will be attracting someone who gets hard at the thought of busting down the door with guns drawn of someone who poses no physical threat to anyone.
Good thing he doesn't consider the military any longer....don't need anyone who considers insubordination a good thing...

Again, were they here legally? Did they come through a port of entry? Ellis Island, Milwaukee, New Orleans. No Republican that I know of is anti-immigrant, we support legal immigration. If you are here illegally, you are a criminal, you need to be sent to your home.

Project 2525 authors, who are filling this administration, are ardently anti-immigrant.

States like Iowa with low and shrinking populations should be working with the Feds to try to get as many immigrants here as possible with a fast track to citizenship. The Midwest desperately needs new people.
Just wait until those tariffs get slapped down.

“Here we go inflation, here we go (cha cha). Here we go inflation, here we go (cha cha).”

For the same reason that it's illegal to buy stolen goods. The people hiring undocumented workers are happy to do so because it allows them to pay lower wages, just the same as one can save a lot of money by purchasing stolen goods.
So then a private citizen should not worry about reprisal from the government when things go south during their enforcement actions—see Daniel Penney? This would also mean, if they detect an ILLEGAL applying for a job, they can use any means necessary to detain them for ICE?

I can see why NG pussies like Jimmy are afraid to round up these invaders....these felons look like the might stomp his soft ass >

I have a buddy that has two sons in the National Guard. I asked him about this possibility and he told me they’d joined to clean up after tornadoes and help with floods. Maybe be there in case the US needs them for WW3. They didn’t sign up for this. One is a college graduate with a solid degree, and the other is a junior in college.
Kim needs to read the room for an organization already struggling to recruit and retain citizen soldiers. Kim needs to read the room that besides the MAGAts average Iowans won’t be supportive of the disruption.
States need to be prepared for dissatisfaction, and some scandals. It happened the first time, it will happen again. Some guardsman will rape a teenage girl, or there will be pictures of some dipshit smacking a migrant around for fun, and the questions will start.

My son was in the Pennsylvania National Guard and got called to Philly for riot patrol during the BLM protests. He said the typical Guardsmen was chomping at the bit to bust some BLM-heads, so my guess is most Iowa Guardsmen would be thrilled to round-up a bunch of Mexicans.

Fortunately, things were about 90% more calm in Philly than the breathless reports people got. Because the NG had live ammo and zero training in riot control. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

Lib TV had a good segment on yesterday discussing a dreamer in Rome, GA. Brought into the US as an infant, and has lived here ever since. He's a taxpayer, a homeowner, gainfully employed, and has a wife and kids. His FIL is a MAGA and was quoted saying he loved his SIL, but he'd voted for Trump because he'd deport all the illegals. He then said they'd have to go through him to get to his SIL.
The logic on the right is truly dizzying.

I believe it.

The cultists are so brainwashed that they voted against their self interests.

The mess the next Dem President will be tasked with cleaning up will be massive.

I assume due to a different political climate under Dem presidency’s? 🤔
Why did Terry and Kim allow the illegals to take over Iowa? Storm Lake, Columbus Junction, Tama, Earlville... Republicans surrendered Iowa to the illegals.

We don't want him. The military is for patriots who want to protect the Constitution and their fellow citizens, not some candy-ass who thinks it is up to him to decide if his civilian leadership is right, or wrong. They follow legal orders that come from our civilian leadership. The last thing we need is some smug assed private who thinks they know better. That is how we get traitors like Vindman. Your son should probably consider Americorps and go out and save some trees.

Governors don't have the authority to enforce immigration law. Several states have passed laws. The dems file suit to prevent the laws from moving forward.

Have you read Project 2025? I have and think it is a great policy plan for America, commonsense, logic. I can see why the left fears it.

It eliminates T and U visas, eliminates temporary protected status, reduces and will greatly diminish the H-1B visa program which is how guys like Elon Musk first came here.

Have you read it? Did you just miss that?

We full right now, bro! We need to focus on making vacancy before going back to allowing those who truly deserve to be here....you know, be here!

Yeah, I am all for that. Not all of it will be enacted, but if a large part of it is, it will be a much better country for all of us. Even you lefties, no worries, we'll take care of you.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds says she is ready to use "every tool at our disposal," including deploying the state's National Guard and law enforcement, to carry out President-elect Donald Trump's plans for "mass deportations" of illegal immigrants, according to a joint statement by Republican governors.

Trump has signaled he wants to see an overhaul of the country's immigration system, starting with deporting immigrants living in the country illegally who have violated the law.

"On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out," Trump said during his campaign's closing speech at Madison Square Garden.

Reynolds and 25 other Republican governors vowed in the statement to stand behind Trump's plans to seal the border to illegal immigrants, which they said President Joe Biden's administration failed to accomplish.

“Republican governors remain fully committed to supporting the Trump Administration’s efforts to deport dangerous criminals, gang members, and terrorists who are in this country illegally," the governors said in their statement. "We understand the direct threat these criminal illegal immigrants pose to public safety and our national security, and we will do everything in our power to assist in removing them from our communities."

Reynolds' office did not immediately respond to a request for additional information on how the National Guard and law enforcement might be deployed in the deportation effort.

Seems reasonable, the Guard has been called out numerous times when disasters hit our state, Biden/Harris brought this illegal invasion upon us and it is a disaster so it makes perfect sense to use the ING to clean it up.
