9/11/12.... Benghazi attack happened
9/12/12...... Hillary emails Chelsea and a foreign leader (in Egypt IIRC) that the attack was planned and not due to a video
9/14/12...... Hillary is at Andrews AFB when the bodies are brought back and blames the video
9/16/12. (approx) ...... Susan Rice makes rounds on Sunday talk shows blaming video for this spontaneous demonstration
9/20/12 (approx)...... President Obama goes to the UN and blames the video
This was a coverup. The administration just lied about it. They are gross ppl.

To find out what happened at Benghazi and why, so steps can be taken to avoid a repetition -- and presumably, people can be held responsible for any errors they may have made. This would involve the reasons for the people being there, the reason the security was at the level it was, whether additional security was requested -- and if so, why it was not provided -- whether help was requested after the attack began -- and if so, why it was not provided -- and whether the administration was truthful in reporting the events.
This hearing is a travesty, a sad testimony to what has happened to a once respectable Republican Party. And a great boost to Hillary's campaign.

This will get good when the other witnesses come - especially Sid B. I'm guessing he might be found in a park from suicide soon.
Blumenthal has already testified hasn't he? They voted to not release transcripts of his testimony today, presumably because it backs Clintons story. Admittedly this doesn't mean much, as Blumenthal would sell his mothers soul to back the Clintons.

It has been confirmed that Hillary and the rest of the administration lied for a week or more about the reasons for the attack; I guess that really isn't new to those of us who have followed the matter.
We learned that repeated calls for additional security never got to the Secretary of State. Or more precisely, we learned that she says they never did.
Actually lied in the end/middle of a election for her boss. Think that played a part?
Everyone really needs to watch Jordan and Gowdy video's from today.

I will take you at your word that the first paragraph is true. The second is demonstrably false, at least by any of the testimony heard. Why would the Secretary be involved in security matters? There was staff for that. They haven't found any emails sent to Hillary by anyone asking for more security for Benghazi.

The meaning of the word, Gowdy proclaimed, was “unwanted”—yet Clinton had clearly made statements in her emails that she appreciated Blumenthal’s input. The congressman persisted with his incorrect definition to prove Clinton lied about a topic unrelated to Benghazi until Blumenthal’s lawyer suggested looking up unsolicited in the dictionary (it means “not requested,” as the Democrats later pointed out). Based solely on posts in this thread, you are giving a lot of credit to a guy who doesn't know the simple definition of unsolicited.
And it takes the repubs how many committees to figure this out? Surely, HRC is not so much smarter than all those committees that she has outwitted all of them. Or maybe she is.
Must have missed the part where the Bush administration blamed all of these on videos. Did we leave these people to fight for themselves for hours on end only to eventually be tortured and killed?
I agree Hillary has outwitted her critics. She is doing it be sheer bluster and by hiding information. It doesn't hurt that she has a large group of enablers.
If only we would have had multiple costly committee investigations into these previous embassy attacks to get the bottom of exactly what went wrong and what we could have done better. We could have avoided the Benghazi attack. I blame the bush administration for failing to keep our embassies safe then and now.

No - she said the attack was by al Qaeda. Later Intel said it was due to the video. She never mentioned planned attack or a video in the below email to Chelsea. Intel information was very volatile and changed often.

In reality the other investigations and especially the review board were partisan kangaroo court cover ups.
This is the first investigation that got to the server problem, numerous lies to the public, etc..
I watched much of the scene yesterday. I'm not quite sure how Elijah Cummings if he had any decency could look in a mirror, shave and not slit his throat on purpose if he used a straight razor. What a maggot.

...It was a masterful performance. She showed enormous discipline and nearly super-human stamina.
She let nothing slip. But in the end she let everything slip. She got a perfect score, but failed the test.
She didn't mean to, but she showed us a glimpse into her soul.
It was chilling.
We now know that when Secretary Clinton met the plane carrying the bodies of the four Americans who died at Benghazi that the Obama administration had initially lied about what happened.
She stood over the flag-draped coffins of four dead Americans knowing that the first narrative blamed their deaths on an Internet video, which caused a demonstration outside the consulate to turn into a deadly attack, when she already knew the truth.
She looked into the eyes of the families of the fallen heroes knowing all about that.
She always knew they died from a planned terrorist attack from an Al Qaeda-like group. That's what she told her family and foreign leaders according to newly released emails...
