Grapple On The Gridiron Ticket Sales

Can anyone tell me how the mat will
lbe set up?
Just curious my tickets are in section 124 row 7 will the wind from south west be a factor?

Not sure if I'm answering your question, minn, but the mat is supposed to be in the south endzone, probably reaching north to about the 10 yard line or so. Hard to say exactly.

You'll have a great view!

Speaking of the set-up, I haven't heard anything lately about students being seated in temporary bleachers north of the mat. Is that still in the plans? Anybody on this board have a ticket for that area?

I haven't heard anything about it either, but I presume it will be first come/serve. Students are required to get tickets, and those first tickets had actual seats, so maybe they did get those specifically ticketed, I don't know.

I hope it is the students who actually attend wrestling meets, not just out of loyalty, but because they are the most knowledgeable which adds to the entire atmosphere.

Think it's safe to say they will sale about 1000/day leading up to sat and then whatever walk up sales end up being.

Weather forecast is up to 58/sunny now. Looks like we hit 60 if it keeps trending up.

They would probably sell a few more if not charging a $6 order fee for a $10 ticket. If gonna buy 10 tickets it's not a huge deal but someone just wanting 1 or 2 it seems excessive. Just charge $1/ticket fee instead so it evens out regardless how many someone needs.

Just heard Ironside on the radio. Mat will be elevated in order to provide heat under the mat to keep it softer and not cold from weather. Per Ironside, this is considered safety first issue with hardness of the mat. Mat itself will not be heated itself though.
Original plan (provided directly by member of facility group) is that mat was going to be set up between south goal line and 10 yard line, but they may move it north by 5 or 10 yards to try and center between fans depending on how ticket sales progressed. I'm guessing they are getting close to moving it north a little with 30,000+ sold

Brave, that wouldn't be fair to the priority ticket holders and ones who bought early and thought they had practically "matside" seats.

Chloe, I know these fees are getting out of hand. It cost me over $52 dollars for two tickets to the ISU meet, and that's with printing them at home instead of mailing. Pollard gouges Hawk fans again.

You might be right about being fair, but I'm not sure anyone but Tom Brands and John Smith were expecting matside seats in an outdoor football stadium in the middle of Iowa in November. (and I am a priority ticket holder too). But 30,000 fans yelling "two" will be awesome no matter where you sit!!!

I am dreaming but I'd like 45,000 @ this point.

If we don't crack 50k, I'm staying home.
How about this, we wait in the parking lot until we feel like there are 49,999 fans in the stadium and then go in. Then, if we have misscounted and they announce the attendance and if it is under 50K, we leave.;)

Deal!

Just tried to buy 3 tickets online at the Main $10 price level, entered the code and got an 'Unable to secure seats in this price level' message. Tried it again and got the same thing. Any idea what's up? This is from a mobile device- does being on a computer change anything or is it sold out?

Agreed Sir.
I got my seats early on from the Bro, who has season tickets. Haven't paid any attention to where they are (I know the Section and all that crap, doesn't matter), frankly I don't care. I wanted to be there, period. Driving down from the Twin Cities and taking it all in. My personal feelings about my entitlement will have to wait for another day..................

And last but not least, I don't know where the mat will be and how that may effect my personal sight line, but I've know since many many moons ago, life isn't fair and it's never going to be. I would have thought all the adults knew that by now.

I heard on the radio this morning the ticket office is strongly recommending everyone order printable tickets online. For whatever reason I don't know. Maybe like Wendy said they are expecting long lines.

Dolph said on the radio call in show last week to bring cash if possible for walk up tickets because they are worried about the credit card machines being slow and causing big lines if that is how the majority are paying.

I kind of guestimated that attendance would match the temperature up to a certain point. I was expecting 30k at 30 degrees, 40k at 40 degrees and so forth. 50k was my high end attainable goal but that would take some marketing genius the last 2 days.

I was at the ticket office today and there were 5 people in line buying GotG tickets.

Here ya go ;)
