Should California be forced to buy products from other states' they disagree with? The Grassley bill does not prevent California from establishing rules governing the production of food products produced inside their state.

I walk between 35-50 miles a week, and lift 3-4 times a week....my arteries will be just fine w/ some bacon in my stomach every now and then.
The Grassley bill does not prevent California from establishing rules governing the production of food products produced inside their state.
It’s tastyStop eating bacon people.
If you saw how it was done you would never eat it again anyway. You can live without your Casey's Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant. You will be healthier too.

It's amazingly ignorant to say that "California doesn't buy products". JFCNot at all,.. But first of all let's understand that "California" doesn't buy products, California customers do. With Grassley's bill both the current Iowa pork and the new California pork could both be made available for sale inside the state of California and then actual customers would decide which product they prefer to purchase...
Again....phuque Chuck! He needs to figure out what to do with the southern border abd the nation’s debt. He has no phuquin’ business sticking his nose into what laws California wants to enforce as a state. This is a California issue....and doesn’t Chuck work for the voters of Iowa? Not at all,.. Quite honestly, phuque Chuck and the Iowa pig farmer on this one. Cali has the right to make rules about what can be sold in their state. “States rights” include rights that aren’t always popular. It’s is not Chuck’s business what Cali allows to be sold. If Iowa CNN pig farmers wanna sell their pork in Cali, they will have to conform to Cali law, I guess.
I think Cali is really stupid on this one but no what’s dies it say you have to be right. It’s their loss.

We’ll now, that’s different.Maybe California senators should introduce bills legalizing abortion in Iowa.
Bullshit.. Chuck is interfering in someone else’s business… put the shoe on the other foot Rifler…he’s meddling in shit ge needn’t concern himself with.or is it NOW bumig intrusive govt is a good thing. Because you agree with it?Chuck is trying to support the pork industry, Iowa is a major pork producer, Iowa pork producers are Iowa voters...

Bullshit.A California proposition that is about to drive an across the board nationwide increase in the cost of pork production should most certainly concern a Senator from Iowa,... This is Chuck Grassley's business.
Respectfully, i'd disagree. he 'has business' with respect to both inasmuch as congress has authority under the commerce clause -- and broad authority at that -- to consider questions such as this. Again, I don't have a pig in this fight on the question of what regulation should or should not entail, or whether there should or shouldn't be a national rule. But is very much within the business of a united states senator - whether they be Grassley, Feinstein, or someone less senile than either of them - to consider that issue (including, as it were, to benefit their constituents).Bullshit.
Grassley has business figuring out the border problem, the debt and what to do with China and Russia. Not to meddle in the internal affairs of California.
All Iowa pig farmers have to do is conform to Cali’s laws and the problem is solved. Some pig farmers in Iowa have already converted. You wanna phuque d up “solution” have Congress and their special interests get involved.
Well Chuck is stickin’ his nose into others business. Imagine the outrage here if a Cali senator did something similar?Respectfully, i'd disagree. he 'has business' with respect to both inasmuch as congress has authority under the commerce clause -- and broad authority at that -- to consider questions such as this. You seriously don't think that California senators don't push regulatory initiatives that are of interest to California residents and businesses' economic interests? The reason ol' Chuckles listens to IA pig farmers is that he represents them, which, believe it or not, is sort of the way the system is supposed to work.Well Chuck is stickin’ his nose into others business. Grassley has done shit to work on. W sides what Xaliforniabs want to eat. Maybe Chuck ought to encourage Iowa pig farmers to conform to Cali’s standards? Done pig farmers geee in Iowa already have. They will profit handsomely from their Cali business.
That's bullshit. There is nothing in prop 12 that says they have to change. They only have to change if they want to send their product to California. Don't comply and California doesn't get pork. Californians can fight over the pork they get.A California proposition that is about to drive an across the board nationwide increase in the cost of pork production should most certainly concern a Senator from Iowa,... This is Chuck Grassley's business.
Correct. I don't see the big problem. I can right now buy "organic" and "pasture raised" pork. If there's a market for a niche variation, businesses will adapt and fill it. Grassley needs to shove his socialism up his ass. That's bullshit. There is nothing in prop 12 that says they have to change. They only have to change if they want to send their product to California. Pork should become cheaper if the California market disappears. More pork equals more supply. And that's very likely where this ends up,.. net result being that every US consumer will pay the added cost for all pork products, as dictated by California,.. Let's wait and see what other types of demands California can impose on us...
The irony here aardvark is that Grassley had made his bones constantly complaining about federal over reach and Federal interference in to state matters. This is clearly a Cali issue. They have made a business decision for their state. Let them live with it. Did you see any Cali pols interfering with Iowa’s abortion law changes? You seriously don't think that California senators don't push regulatory initiatives that are of interest to California residents and businesses' economic interests? Also note that this was a referendum. The people of California demanded this, not the legislature. The irony here aardvark is that Grassley had made his bones constantly complaining about federal over reach and Federal interference in to state matters. Again…. Pig farmers can still sell pork in Cali… they just have to give their pigs a little more room to grow. Some Iowa pig farmers read the Cali law and have made rye needed changes. Sometimes it’s just easier and smarter to get along.
I don’t know who the bigger fool here is…. Grassley or tge Xali legislature who passed the law. But it is their law… let them live with it.
The California thing hurts producers like Iowa Select, Iowa's largest entity who also happens to be a GOP political donor. Also note that this was a referendum. The people of California demanded this, not the legislature.
Like organic or free range meat, some producers already serve particular niche markets. This is the same thing, some producers will serve the new California market, while most can easily continue serving the other 49 states.
As I see it, they'll be waking up on July 2nd, and ask wait a minute, where's my bacon? Really it is total bullshit that the courts have delayed the will of the voters this long. The irony here aardvark is that Grassley had made his bones constantly complaining about federal over reach and Federal interference in to state matters. So they can set up an Iowa Select, Cali division and cash in. As can the pork producers that have already been building new facilities or retrofitting their old ones. There's going to be a nice market for this. The California thing hurts producers like Iowa Select, Iowa's largest entity who also happens to be a GOP political donor.

Honestly Joel, I'm well past being surprised by political irony, which is a polite way of saying "hypocrisy".The irony here aardvark is that Grassley had made his bones constantly complaining about federal over reach and Federal interference in to state matters. Why do you care? Why does California ever care?
Pork chops are 10 for $20 on sale. How much cheaper do you want it?A California proposition that is about to drive an across the board nationwide increase in the cost of pork production should most certainly concern a Senator from Iowa,... This is Chuck Grassley's business.
Iowa GOP pols just blatantly lie. They have no real opposition so they say whatever with no qualms. Iowa has been negatively served by its politicians the past 10 years or so…Honestly Joel, I'm well past being surprised by political irony, which is a polite way of saying "hypocrisy".
More like just stop selling Iowa bacon to California,.. They don't want it, they don't have to buy it.
Every industry operates a PAC and attempts to lobby their cause, unconcerned about that,.. My issue is California trying to wag the dog, by dictating to the entire pork industry...
