Great effort by the Hawkeyes.

No doubt....if they could've made another comeback, especially from being down 25, I think it would've given them enough of a bounce to make it to the Elite 8....just wasn't meant to be....can't wait to see this team make that run next year.

Iowa makes an epic comeback and some of you still can't give the kids credit for showing amazing heart. Eat shit

I'm sure that Izzo has your same sentiments, NOT. The reason Michigan St. continues to be the team that they are, is they do not except losing as the norm. I applaud this team for coming back from the dead, but you have to finish the deal and not roll over in overtime. Iowa excepts moral victories, the blue bloods do not. Iowa will never be a blue blood but they can be a lot tougher then they are.
This is just another loss that the Iowa players and fan base will shrug off as BAU. Unacceptable

As a player and a coach, that should be the attitude.

Fans need to get a grip.

While I don't claim any sort of moral victory, just seeing how they came back and about pulled it off! WOW! There was no one I ever found that thought they could even come close. It appeared they were going to be very embarrassed, but never gave up! Who would have thought they would send it into overtime? Bet the Tennessee entitled were crapping in their diapers! I am proud of this team and think this team is going to be one to reckon with next season.

I still think this was the best team since the '87 one, that I've seen. Just in terms of being capable of the magic that team had at times.

So very proud and absolutely shocked we got this into overtime.

Just unreal.

Tennessee would not be denied but holy **** we almost pulled this off. Just typing that seems unreal considering how unrealistic any kind of come back was at halftime.

In the best Fran way possible to say this:

Next year is going to be tremendous.

Accept. You’re welcome.

Loss is a loss, But i feel like the program turned a corner today... Did some bad habits come home to roost? Yup. But the team responded and i think they showed that they were more than the team that folded late in the conference season. I think the reaponse by the Tenn players in the post game showed that

Ah yes, I’m sure Izzo credits people whining on message boards for his success.

Izzo runs his program like a military boot camp. Breaks down his players and then builds them up to be tougher when the time requires them to be tougher. In no way would Michigan St start off this game being down 25 in the first half. He would have had a coronary on the side lines before he'd have let that happen. Fran runs an entirely too soft a program for Iowa players to pull these type of games out of their asses. But, just to be fair, today's come back was hopefully a turning point in Fran's time at Iowa. It's time for Iowa to start playing the game and stop watching it, if you get my drift...

Very impressive comeback by this Hawkeye team. They displayed a mental toughness that has been lacking in Hawkeye teams for a long time. You could tell after halftime they put it in their mind no matter the outcome they were going to come back and win it or go down fighting. That attitude comes from the coaching staff and the leaders on the team.

I posted above that i think this program turned a corner. I saw some of these players take charge the last two games. Jbo was not afraid to get insome teammates faces. I feel we have been lacking that sort of on court accountability. Maybe a sign that the team has stiffened up

Loved the fight Bohannon showed when their center was trying to set that pick. Really set the tone for the comeback. Too often we've seen Iowa teams roll over when other teams get physical. That kind of fight and the experience we have returning has me excited for next year.

There are a dozen things a person could be critical about today. They are all outweighed by the urgency and effort the Hawks put forth in the second half. They were outmanned at every position. It was heart and determination that brought them back. I wish Iowa had even two of Tennessee's starters. But if my team could only have one of talent or heart, I would choose heart. Hopefully Fran will attract some better athletes going forward but this was one that will be remembered for years.

Exactly. If anyone thinks Fran didn't coach his butt off they don't know basketball.

My opinion of Fran might have budged a hair in a positive direction after that game.
My opinion of the guys mettle and heart after the last 2 games couldn't be any higher.
Which is really what counts.
