Hall going to tOSU

He didn't tweet it as far as I saw, he posted it on the Ohiowrestling.net thread "Where-o is our old friend dano" or something along those lines.

Well Sloehawk...unfortunately it sounds like someone (Dice) is in the know.
You can take my word for it or you can suffer daily like you seem to be, looking for who's signing where. You aren't going to find it here, and if you do it's speculative or "I heard" or "I hope", and on the extremely rare occurrence of those who may actually know aren't saying, as it should be IMO. You'll know when the kid or the school announces it.

You may get some info on who's visiting where and what-not, you could find that elsewhere with enough research as well, if you're so inclined. I'm not, but I'm old and learned long ago it isn't worth the daily gnashing of teeth and consternation................. In other words, speculate on your own and write it down if you want to, the end result will be the same. You'll get a whole boatload of mis-information as well, so if you want to process all that on a daily basis, fine by me. Hell, at one point Thomas Gilman wasn't even on the radar supposedly, because we had already signed Cory Clark I believe. Out of the clear blue sky he signs with The Hawks and was probably talking to them all along.

There are plenty of things you can learn from coming to this site, but who's going where isn't one of them. Do you have a dartboard at home? Put some schools on it, pick a wrestler, throw a dart. That will probably be as close to actual news as you're going to get on a internet message board. You can thank me later, and you'll sleep a hell of a lot better.

He is announcing on 10/22. Again, IMO you probably know where he's going on 10/18. If he makes it to Columbus that day, I would go with the OP and bet tOSU.
Say Cael is trying to get two blue chip 174 lbers in the room, what happens to Nickal? Does he get bumped to 184 for the better of the team? Then does McCutchen get bumped to 197?

I'm still waiting for a Manville de commit with the log jam in the middle. Log jams aren't bad problems, but you'd think someone with Manville's credentials would want to wrestle all 4 years. I wouldn't be suprised if he stayed in Virginia.

I've heard Nickal might go 184 next year with McCutcheon and Cassar fighting it out for 197 after McIntosh leaves. Nickal is pretty tall - looks in some pics like he's taller than Nevills.

No I'll thank you now! And trust me I don't lose a wink of sleep over any of this! It's college wrestling not my family or career. I'll sleep just fine and continue to have fun with my Iowa wrestling hobby
I'm trying to help you. I hope you understand that. I'm not trying to give you any "static", I'm sure you're a good guy and what-not, but you seem a bit "overamped" a lot, which of course is fine, but you're going to give yourself a coronary and your family isn't going to be happy about it. ;)

I guess I'd be upset if I was a recruit and got the your our guy pitch. Well...... Until someone better comes along.

I believe we have a school like this in Iowa too.

The plan all along had been for Nickal to move to 184. He's moving there whether Hall comes to PSU or not.
And I'd expect that everyone that goes to PSU knows they are going to have to compete for a spot no matter what - just like at Iowa.

After wrestling, Cael has a real future working as an airline executive - man could he double book flights, including first-class.

This, of course, is all going to come back and bite Cael in the ass. No loyalty whatsoever.

Same was said about Clark and Gilman. It was rough for one year but it has paid off well now. I get that there seems to be an odd man out in PSU's uppers if that happens, but that is how the old Iowa teams were constructed. If it is on an Iowa team, we say Iron sharpens Iron. If it is somewhere else, we claim they don't have the money or someone should decommit. Ideally, we should hope we have those problems again soon. If we get Lee, JRent, Meija, Turk and Happle all on the same team, we would have the same issue, but that would be good, right?

Isn't his job every recruiting season to find better wrestlers than what he already has in the room?

Not really the point. Of course, no wrestler is guaranteed a spot in the lineup. But years ago Gable passed on Alan Fried and went with Tom Brands instead. Fried wanted to come to Iowa but Gable made his decision.

Thomas Haines? Jake Kemmerer? Buba Jenkins?

Maybe. Should Gable have brought Alan Fried in to compete with Tom Brands? Gable declined to do this and I have great respect for that move. Personally, I'm an Iowa fan because I like the way we do things. If other schools want to pull the rug out from beneath their top recruits, that's fine.

How many wrestlers are on Iowa's team?

I like how you sugar coat it when Gable pulled the rough out from Fried.

Nevils? David Taylor?

You are fiend for Springsteen and Monty Python aren't you CT?
MP - no doubt

The Boss - enthusiasm has waxed and waned. He broke through on Philly's main FM station - WMMR (as did Billy Joel). Two of the original MTV hosts (Mark Goodman and Nina Blackwood) came from this station so it had a lot of influence. Anyway, his stuff was shoved down our eardrums, especially Born to Run. As a result, I wasn't a big fan. When I moved away to grad school, I started to get really into him as he was a part of home that I missed (like good pizza, hoagies, cheesesteaks, Harry Kalas doing Phils games, Merrill Reese for the Birds, etc). I listened to Darkness on the Edge of Town almost twice weekly it seemed.

For the last decade or so, ive grown cool on him again. I hate how he wants to make sure everyone sees how hard he "works" - busting a lung on every song. Plus, his reflexive criticism of the country and its policies rubs me raw - reminds me of Sean Penn at times.

I agree with a lot of things you post, but am way off on this one. Again, to be specific - what recruit will Cael be pulling the rug out under if Mark Hall comes to PSU? Not Nickal - HE wants to go 184, has stated he has been trying to do this since last year. He kind of got derailed with a sickness this summer. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at 197.

Then the trio that you threw out there - there is really no common thread.

Bubba - are you really throwing this out there as evidence against Cael? - missed weight and purposely screwed his certification first year with a new coach. Seriously, that was not a match that was going to work. Probably wouldn't have with Brands after his stunt. Bubba did what was best for him and it worked out great for him in the end. I think everyone ended up happy.

Jake Kemerer transferred to PSU and just ended up being an average wrestler - at PSU and at Lock Haven. What's the point there?

Thomas Haines - nobody knows what was promised to Haines, but we do know that Nevills is at PSU on a 60% scholarship - he has publicly stated this. I highly doubt Haines was promised a full scholarship or anything close to it from the start - but again, nobody knows. I never got my panties in a wad about Haines and I know the kid.

Maybe you have a point about Haines - but again, nobody really knows what went down. The other two don't wash. People love to revel in Bubba that don't like Cael, but Bubba got what he wanted. He didn't want to be in Cael's program and he ended up in the best spot for him. It would have been different if Cael recruited him, but he didn't. If you recruited him, you knew what you were getting into there.

I actually agree with you 100%. I accidentally posted that. After I wrote it, I decided I didn't like it and decided just to go with the Fried/Brands part. However, I forgot to delete the PSU part.
