"Happy Joe" Whitty's Generosity Remembered

On Nov. 9, his funeral took place at St John Vianney
Catholic Church in the Quad Cities. Joe is survived by
9 children, 24 grandkids, and 12 great grandchildren..
His 82 years on this earth were filled with kindness and
generosity. Joe was more than the founder of Happy
Joe's Pizza Parlor.

Over 47 years ago he founded the Happy Joe's Kids
Foundation to help those whose needs are developmental
income related, or education based. This year his annual
holiday party for kids with special needs will be held Dec.
3 and 4 at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline.

Joe was actively involved with Junior Achievement,
Partners in Education, the Handicapped Development
Center, and Tomorrow's Leaders. He lived a great life
by helping other people. His philanthropy was directed
toward those who were down and out. He took care of
them.

Joe's first wife Sandra died at the age of 33 from
leukemia. They had 4 children. He and his second
wife Nancy had 5 children. She died in 2008.
