Obviously things would need to go right. Maybe it's not a realistic goal with how tough the B1G is.

Honestly I think the big ten is a little softer at the bottom than I anticipated. I was expecting 7 BIG losses I could see 5 now.
Possible. Depends on how dominant Illinois and/or MSU end up being in Big Ten play.
If we take losses, and the rest of the conference does us no favors, then that might not be enough.
It's pretty apparent that the Big Ten has 3 very elite teams and Wisconsin right below that, though a tough out for all 3 teams.
The road is a tough tough place in this conference. Be interesting to see the treatment Iowa gets since they are supposed to be elite. A little bit more reasonable or the continued "life on the road" bs calls.
Except the road will be an entirely different beast with no crowds.
that year got hosed out of a 1 seed, placed in UNLVs bracket (overall #1), up 20 at half vs UNLV and lost. Worst heartbreak of my life as a Hawkeye fan.

Iowa operates like an NBA team with scoring and possessions and trying to steal the ball for fast breaks. **** our D sucking it does because of those emphasizes this team is SPECIAL and this is going to be an EPIC run.
Until their starting five can play better defense the answer is NO. We have two starters who play above average defense and three that are no more than average.

Given that we don't start the B1G schedule with any of the top three powerhouses, our schedule isn't exactly easy: Begin with Hawk-killing, most hated rival Purdue(4-2) at Carver (where they last ruined Senior Night for us), go to 6-0 Minnesota, back home for a supposed breather with Northwestern(2-1) and then two straight on the road at Rutgers(4-0) and Maryland(4-1). There really aren't any nights off in the B1G.

Heck when waa the last time Iowa had a primetime CBS game? Can't wait until next weekend.
Felt so good being up and then the dread of pissing the game away. I think UNLV had at least two players that were in NBA long time. Closest to greatness Iowa has ever been. I think they were better than the Ronnie Lester final 4 team.
