Hats off to Connor

CMAC would be a valuable 9th man on a good team---one that would actually make the Sweet16,

Although Kris Murray didn't have a good game, he also was focus of the auburn defense. I wonder why there have been very few threads that are started to show appreciation for Kris and a player like connor, a bench talent, has probably averaged a few threads each year dedicated to his stellar, amazing basketball skills. I guess if you feel Fran is a great coach, then you have a lot vested in him and think his progeny is also blessed with talent.

CMAC plays hard, smart, good attributes. Not blessed with a lot of talent.

Threads are started about appreciating him because there are a whole bunch of posters who like making him the whipping boy for all the team's struggles

I see what you did there!

Sadly, I would love to see PMac and Fran go with him but don't see it happening.
Yep….PMac’s last attempt with the ball was dribbling it off his foot for the turnover. Like watching a giraffe attempt to run the 100 meter lows.

Guards that aren’t blessed with a lot of talent should be playing for Coe, if they played highschool ball in Iowa City. Coe is the Harvard of the Midwest. A perfect place for a “smart” guard.

Pearl’s entire defense was centered stopping Kris. And they threw him off his rhythm. Sandfort had a good game, so did Rebraca. They got no offense help.

If the's a 9th guy talent but starts 3 years, it seems like he's been given a lot of appreciation by his coach. What about the guy that gets passed over by the coach his Freshman year so that the coach can play his two kids? That guy would seem to need more appreciation.

I know lot of people think I'm an asshole. So be it. I just think Fran's Nepotism is obvious and shows poor character. That is just my opinion. I don't call people that think the opposite assholes.

Kris got 18 shots (scoring 15 points). And I don’t recall them being forced shots.

I disagree that Kris was the focus. Auburn played aggressive defense across the board.

We will miss him big time next year.
I don't know if we will miss him that much.

Fran has had over a decade to establish recruiting connections, has made the tournament alot, installed his winning style of basketball.

We should be able to start the year on fire.

Maybe. To be honest I don't really buy a lot of the Fran nepotism talk. I don't know that we have significantly more talented players who are sitting on the bench. The whole team seems to be lacking talent and effort wise

Fran just keeps beating a dead horse like a drum. He keeps having good big men but no guard play at all and it’s gets you nowhere in the big dance.
Maybe just maybe with jbo and Connor both finally gone he can take a chance on bringing in a guard and not worry about his pals getting minutes

Connor brought positives to this team without question. Some nights they were better than others. Some nights they were “stat” things and other nights they weren’t. Some nights he stunk, just like everyone else who has ever played the game. I thank him for his work and effort and wish him well.

WTF. Recruits with eyes see who plays and how fran uses his players. How many people passes on is because Fran’s sons or union card players.

I’m very excited about Dix and Bowen, hopefully Bowen stays. They very well likely will be The best guard tandem in Frans coaching history at Iowa.
Would you stay if you were Bowen? He saw “in game” fran and has to be as confused as most. Dix stays.
