Hats off to Connor

Who are they players you think should be getting more playing time?
You don’t think Bowen and Dix deterred 5-10 most games? Or any minutes for that matter. Hell we were up 25 with a minute to go and fran put starters back in because Bowen had the audacity to dibble to a corner. When that’s the perfect time to teach.
You don’t think sanfort should play more.

I agree on Sandfort for sure

I hated how he was used by his dad but that isn't on him. I absolutely will not miss his constant pissing and moaning to the refs, that shit got old years ago. I can't remember an Iowa player half as polarizing as CM

Tip of the cap to Connor. I have to admit I was skeptical of him returning this year, but he was generally speaking a solid glue guy and made good contributions even if it didn't mean scoring much. Garza would have had a great career at Iowa regardless, but I believe Connor's post feed skills helped take Luka to the elite level.

Won't miss him, played way too much - that's on Fran. Completely exposed by halfway athletic opponents. "Glue guy" was some of the dumbest shit ever posted on this board.

Yeah, but it stuck!

Can’t fault a kid that played as hard as Connor. Yes he was limited on offense, but he always played hard and you always knew what you were getting from him.

we badly need new guards
I honestly can’t remember the last time we had a pt. Guard who could dominate his counterpart on both sides of the ball. This game should tell Fran more than he wants to know. Two so-called equal teams from two great conferences yet A&M dominated tempo for the ENTIRE game. Iowa might have had a couple of runs but NEVER did they force their will on their opponent.
These guys simply have to get a LOT tougher between the ears.

I think Connor played his ass off and maximized his talent. I think these last 2 years he did a good job of minimizing his weaknesses and playing a big role facilitating the other players and defending well.

That being said, Connor most certainly would not be considered a quality starter in this league. Iowa desperately needs to find some quality guards in the portal.

We will miss him big time next year.
The play...this will seem strange....that kind of encapsulates just why Connor will be missed.

Late with the Hawks I think down 8....PM turns the ball over for what looks like a easy layup for Auburn. Connor runs him down and fouls him. The reason this stuck out...is everyone else is jogging back...to include PM. Connor sprints back and commits his 4th foul. It's the no brainer BBall play....but this team rarely does it. Infuriates me watching our guys give up on plays in this type situation...happens all the time.

Anyway, I think Connor might be missed more than anyone else. Before Connor...giving up late leads was a staple of Fran teams. ISU collapse being the standout. Since Connor has been here the Hawks protect late leads pretty darned well. To the point I had high confidence the Hawks would maintain the lead....before Connor there was a lot of anxiety. I think Connor and his play late has a lot to do with that.

He's a jack of all trades and basically does whatever the team needs. Don't see an heir apparent for that roll...maybe Josh Dix.

He'll be missed.

Throw in Oregon and Richmond. Last three ncaa losses Iowa’s guards were dominated by either one guy (Richmond) or blown off the floor by the entire guard court (Oregon). And yesterday we saw Green take over when it mattered most.
