Gravy. That’s a lot of Goa'uld to sort through.Thought I read that 200 portal or soon to be portal players have made contact with Colorado since Saturday

He's got something that very, very few other P5 head coaches have. Actually, none have. He's cool, he's hip to young people and he's an all-time great player. I mean, what's stopping him from having a #1 class next season? Who wouldn't want to play for him? All he's ever done is kick ass. In everything.
A G5 team gets in too. Like Tulane would have this year. He probably would have had USF as that team more years than not. When the playoff goes to 12 teams.
PAC 12 and Big 12 will get a team in each year.
Much easier path than for a big ten team not named USC UCLA Mich or Ohio State
Weird I thought he was into coaching to improve the programs at HBCU's and not so much to make a career out of coaching.
That said it's obviously his right if he wants to make a career out of coaching, I've got no problem with that. But his words while at Jackson State seemed to indicate that he was trying to help improve HBCU's.
Regardless I do think with his personality and energy he can be a great recruiter.
How so? The Buffs gonna start playing defense?Going to light things up in Pac 12
How so? The Buffs gonna start playing defense?
You know what you call a PAC 12 team that has a 30 point / game defensive scoring average?
The best defensive team in the conference.
Are you on meds ?Why do you keep putting a 12 there?
Maybe but he didn’t exactly play and FCS power house teams. His teams don’t even participate in the FCS playoff. Would have been nice to see a matchup with NDSU to get a good measure.I'll own it if I am wrong. But I think Sanders is going to create a juggernaut
Or go play a D-1 team for a payday/ infomercial.Maybe but he didn’t exactly play and FCS power house teams. His teams don’t even participate in the FCS playoff. Would have been nice to see a matchup with NDSU to get a good measure.

It can get worse. See Baylor.IDK about a juggernaught but I think the guy can recruit based on his personality. The question is if he is going to be able to do it without using the "do it for HBCU" line on recruits. I am thinking he can.
But given that they were 1-11 pretty much the only directly that program can go is up.
That’s been his plan since day one. Run off most of the existing players and overhaul the roster through the portal.
42 (and counting) is a heck of a lot of players to replace. Depth could be quite the issue for him this next year. That’s been his plan since day one. Run off most of the existing players and overhaul the roster through the portal.

Nevertheless, that’s his plan. It’s the vision he pitched to Colorado when they hired him - his 40/40/20 plan. He wants his roster to be comprised of 40% graduate transfers, 40% undergraduate transfers, and 20% high school signees.42 (and counting) is a heck of a lot of players to replace. It'll definitely be interesting to see how well he can utilize the portal to build an entire team. FSU showed proof of concept as most of our team's main leaders came from the portal... But Prime is essentially trying to build an entire team off the back of the portal that is getting harder to recruit from and doesn't have the numbers that were there due to covid seasons having far more players in college football now. FSU got lucky in that regard. I think he'll get a pretty decent haul this year, but if they don't win significantly more games, will he be able to pull portal players in the future.Nevertheless, that’s his plan. I have neither a problem with NIL or the Transfer Portal, however both need some major modifications to how they function... Especially in how they are utilized together.Prime is too much about Prime to really get to the top in coaching. Somewhere/sometime, you have to have at least a touch of humility to understand you don't know everything and you have to build the culture up with people that know more than you. Deion can't do that.
That being said, this fnnn transfer portal/NIL bullshit that's ruining college sports could theoretically create a miserable system where guys like this actually get to the top, because it won't take as much effort to do so.
i mean, they were basically winless last season. Big cleaning house.
Plenty of successful coaches are all about themselves. Urban won three championships. That being said, this fnnn transfer portal/NIL bullshit that's ruining college sports could theoretically create a miserable system where guys like this actually get to the top, because it won't take as much effort to do so.
I agree 100 pct, and this is why Kirk Ferentz's offense has sucked for a vast majority of his 24 seasons. I mean Willie Taggart managed to get somewhere between 55-65000 people to show up to his first spring game at FSU. We all see how that went.Well, he at least as the Buff fans interested again. 35k+ for their spring game, which if I read right was only attended by 1500 the year before.
And they were coming off of sucessful seasons and a championship run prior to that with a long history of success and support. Colorado, not so much.I mean Willie Taggart managed to get somewhere between 55-65000 people to show up to his first spring game at FSU. We all see how that went.
Our avg attendance for most spring games is around 30k. So I'd say adding 30k simply over people being excited by the coach is similar. And they were coming off of sucessful seasons and a championship run prior to that with a long history of success and support. Colorado, not so much.
?It’s very weather dependent. 77° and sunny played a big role.
You’re right. I was looking at 2022. That makes it way more impressive.?
Pretty sure it was 30 and snowing
Telling it like it is; whoever that scribe or newsperson is, guarantee you'll he'll report that Prime is either: a. arrogant b. rude or c. lucky
